Cully Payne is leading all Big Ten freshman in assists/G

out of how many other freshman starting pg ? I thought most if not all teams had a returning starter at the point besides maybe Indiana?

I think Cully has A LOT of potential. There's a toughness about him I really like. Over time he'll gain some strength as he matures, and he needs to work on gaining a quicker first step to the hoop. He's got a pretty decent looking shot too.

Like cliche said though, I bet he's got a 1-1 ast/to ratio. Or close to it.

He's sitting 7th overall in the Big Ten, ahead of names such as Wisky's Taylor and OSU's Buford and Purdue's Chris Kramer.

And don't get me wrong I'm not beating him up as 1)he's a freshman, 2)there is no one to pass to, 3)any pass leading to a shot is most likely leading to a low percentage shot

Something tells me that my odds of winning the lottery are actually better than finding consistently positive posts on this board regarding the current team and that is saying something as I haven't even purchased a lotto ticket in years :(

In regards to turnovers, here's the breakdown of TOs per min so far this season:

TO/min
Brommer .100
Payne .092
Tucker .091
May .078
Gatens .070
Cole .062
Fuller .045
Cougill .037
Bawinkel .015

I'm pretty sure that he's also got more APG so far this year than any current Big Ten player had in their freshman years.
Could well be. Need to wait until after the Big Ten season to compare though, unless someone wants to check out Lucas and others for their nonconference games their freshmen years (and I know there are people out there whose jobs will allow them to do this research during the day).:)
