Ugly series. Let's flush it.
The excuse is they are a really bad team. And they are also about one more sweep to the Pirates away from being blown apart by the new owner.
Bye Lou, Bye Jim, Bye Aramis, Bye D. Lee.
Agreed. The consistency is not there. I am hoping they can put some streaks together, but I do know it will be tough with this group. I will still be watching. The Jekyll/Hyde act from last season is repeating itself. In the last 4 series (@ Milwaukee, home against Washington and Arizona, @ Pitt), the Cubs scored 25 runs over 3 games, 7 runs over 3 games, 33 runs over 4 games, and then 5 runs in this series.
There is no reason to think that this team will ever go on run where they win 10 of 12, or 8 of 10, or anything like that. It is what it is, this is a .500 team.

I generally like Pinella, but he's toast IMO. And I'd see what I could get for Lee. He's 34 years old and while I like him, his best days are past. I'd also see what I could get for Zambrano. It's time to rebuild. Another year another disappointment.
You are right, but I cannot help myself. It's a disease.I don't know if I will or not. If a game is on and I've got nothing else going on I'll watch, but I'm not going to go out of my way like I did in 2007 and 2008.
If the players don't give a ****, why should I?
