Cubs/Pirates

Ugh...Wells can't find the strike zone and can't miss their bats. The Pirates have already plated 4 and just recorded the first out.

The excuse is they are a really bad team. And they are also about one more sweep to the Pirates away from being blown apart by the new owner.
Bye Lou, Bye Jim, Bye Aramis, Bye D. Lee.

Ugly series. Let's flush it.

The Jekyll/Hyde act from last season is repeating itself. In the last 4 series (@ Milwaukee, home against Washington and Arizona, @ Pitt), the Cubs scored 25 runs over 3 games, 7 runs over 3 games, 33 runs over 4 games, and then 5 runs in this series.

There is no reason to think that this team will ever go on run where they win 10 of 12, or 8 of 10, or anything like that. It is what it is, this is a .500 team.

Agreed. The consistency is not there. I am hoping they can put some streaks together, but I do know it will be tough with this group. I will still be watching. :)

i tried to go with the not posting route thought i was jinxin them but apparently it doesnt matter

I generally like Pinella, but he's toast IMO. And I'd see what I could get for Lee. He's 34 years old and while I like him, his best days are past. I'd also see what I could get for Zambrano. It's time to rebuild. Another year another disappointment.

I don't know if I will or not. If a game is on and I've got nothing else going on I'll watch, but I'm not going to go out of my way like I did in 2007 and 2008.

If the players don't give a ****, why should I?

Why? If the Cubs let him go via free ageny, they get a compensatory draft pick. You also have to remember that he has a full no-trade in his contract.

You are right, but I cannot help myself. It's a disease.

Cubs and Sox in a race to the bottom,it seems. Nothing like the baseball clubs in town ceding the fan interest to Hockey until mid-june...ouch.

I wish. I don't think it will happen, but I would love to see Soriano get traded so Colvin can play more consistently. We need to clean out some of the OLD and expensive pieces on the team. Get young, and then you can SMARTLY and I emphasize that part, spend money on free agents that will benefit the team. A 7 year deal to Sori was ridiculous as well as the huge contracts to aging Aram and D-Lee and a very inconsistent Big Z. Everyone says that the cubs should win due to their huge contracts, but I say that's why they lose. Let's develop some players and then spend the money on the quality. I will give the Phillies as an example with Hallady, even though they just spent a ton on Howard.

Changes will be made. Glad to see Castro coming up this week. Could be a sign of things to come. And I can't wait to see Ryno coaching the cubs with maddux as pitching coach! That would be amazing.
