Cuban - College Basketball Ugly

Things that will help a college basketball:
1. A real referee governing body. Refs today just anticipate contact and call the foul instead of calling the game properly.
2. Cuban needs to get his NBA brethren to increase the age limit.
3. Reduce the shot clock to 30 sec.

Refs don't call the game anymore, they guess the game. When the age limit went back into effect it improved the NBA and it is tolerable again. There is too much bs dribbling in college bball today.

Some things I would like to see enforced with refs are calling the off arm offensive foul in the air on the drive. Consistency in calling a touch foul or major contact throughout the course of the game is a must.

When I see 3 officials in the Final Four that were predominantly BIG officials that is a problem because the league games were awful to watch at times.

Also, I would like to see coaches be T'd up more often for there tirades, this would change player behavior on the floor as well.

the head coach of uconn women said the men's game is 'abysmal' as well.

That's because he doesn't have time to eat a sandwich during a fastbreak in the men's game.

All kidding aside, if they enforce the hand check rule, the game would flow alot better. That the only thing I'd change, other than maybe go to the 30 second clock. Just enforce the thuggery rules, and I think the game is fine. You can't allow a MSU, Duke, or whomever to play defense like that. Duke was awful against Wisky. I know my initial reaction from Bo's comments were negative, then I watched a bit of that game...just to see. Man, they were really letting them play, even on the perimeter. Lot's of hand checks to the hips and shoves.

Cuban is full of S**t. First, the NBA has the best from the college group, and some of them have been playing in the league for 10+ years, so naturally, they are going to be better basketball players, make more shots, etc., giving you higher scoring games. College is a developmental league for the pros. Not comparing apples to apples when you compare NBA to College BB.

Second, I hate the NBA because of the emphasis on offense. Watched a NBA playoff game last night. PFs and Centers get close to the basket, then they push the defensive guy out of the way. Defensive guy plays position, then gets called for a foul, when clearly it is an offensive foul. Then to add to it, the refs can call the offensive foul when they feel like it. Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal where famous for charging into there guy. Barkley would take his guy, dribbling the ball, backing into the defensive guy until he got to the basket for a 2 foot shot, or the defensive guy would over commit one way or the other. But it is charging. Defensive player has position. Just drives me crazy when a guy plays great defensive position (in college or pros) and the offensive guy charges.

Referees try keeping the games even until the last 2 minutes. Teams go on runs. When they get behind by 10-15 points, the calls start going their way. I see it all the time in basketball, and much more so in the Pro's. Just make the calls on both ends.

There is some of the suggestions from above that could be implemented that would make the game more interesting, but don't compare the college to the pros.
