I don't understand the Twitter stalkers. Nor do I find anything wrong with how TU went about his decision. He made his choice now he has to live with it. I'm OK with that.

I was thinking on how people react when a recruit either decommits and/or decides to go to a another school jooining late in the recruiting process... although it's disappointing, I think people need to really think about their situations and what would they do if the roles were reversed.

Using the job scenario... if a person has a particular career path in mind, what path would you expect them to take? There are many avenues one could take, but mostly they are going to take the path that best fits their plans for themselves and their families - it might be $$, it might be location or even a company in a better position to promote them. I dare say that very few of us would hesitate to jump jobs and even less would condemn someone for pursuing their dreams.

Sure. The company they are working for might be and do, often times, get upset... but it's all about what fits best for the person. How is that any different for a recruit? As I said before, it's disappointing, but if we truly look at ourselves and the decisions we make, we are no different.

I think most of the negative comments in regard to Tyler Ulis isn't for his going to Kentucky but rather dissapointment that he didn't choose us. In today's world where young people want the rewards of hard work before doing the work it's not a surprise he didn't pick Iowa. Very few players want to build something to cement their legacy. It's not just kids, look at Lebron James, people under 30 didn't grow up the way some of us older people did. When I was there age I did some of the same stupid stuff that kids do today. Back then our parents didn't buy us new cars or let us live with them after high school. I'm sure if things were offered to me, especially if I was a gifted athlete, I would have jumped at the first shiny ring.

I agree that ripping a kid for picking someone else is over the top. Disappointment is the best way to sum up my feelings, especially after we have read 6 months of Ulis' adoration for Fran, his dad's love of Fran, Iowa being the first big program to offer and staying in on him throughout. These kids and their parents should give fewer quotes because at the end of the day, loyalty had absolutely no impact on his decision. That is what I am most disappointed in. Fran went all in with Ulis, like he did with Hubbard and it did not work. Recruiting has to drive coaches crazy, as who knows what goes through the mind of high school kids, especially with social media and peer pressure to play where so and so played / plays.
