Cris Carter gets hosed again

It is not easy to get in. That's why I don't think Kurt Warner gets in. You have to be an elite player for 8-10 years in a row to get in. Not saying Cris Carter wasn't, because I remember him being great for a long time. Just shows how tough it is to get in.

I don't understand that either, he is 1 of the greats.

Dan Patrick had Montana and Rice on last week and asked them who the 2nd best wr all-time was and the 1st name Montana said was Cris Carter.

It is strange to me that Michael Irvin is in the HOF and Carter is not. Carter had a longer, better career. He had more of an impact on and off the field. The only thing Irvin has on Carter is rings, but had they traded teams I fully believe that Carter would have more than Irvin. Someday Carter will get in, hopefully next year. If this turns in to an Ark Monk-esque situation where Carter has to wait 7 or 8 years for the call, it will be a real shame.

Gotta believe that Carter's sometimes-abrasive personality is why some voters aren't supporting him. Right or wrong...that's probably why he's not in yet.

that's gotta be part of it, the stories about Cris when he was in Philadelphia weren't pretty. His numbers should have made him a 1st ballot guy.

Kurt will get a lot of mileage for leading two historically downtrodden franchises to 3 SB with a victory in one. In the 2 he lost he played decently and the games were close. For QBs it's all about winning in the playoffs, which he did. Voters will also associate him with one of the best offenses of all time.

The guy put up a lot of numbers no doubt, but he was never the guy in a big game that other teams had to stop. Mainly because he didn't play in a lot of big games. The Vikings were not a factor in the postseason while he was there until Moss arrived.

Before Moss got there the Vikings were an, 8-8/9-7 franchise that didn't have much success in the playoffs. That is why Irvin made it, he is remembered for postseason greatness.

Voters like championships and big game performance. Carter just doesn't have that on his resume. Eventually he'll get in but in order to get in early, you have to be a dominant player, which he wasn't, or win in the postseason, which he didn't.

IMO both Carter and Warner deserve to get in. Carter was always the next best WR after Rice when I was growing up. Screw Irvin. And Warner's story is just too good to keep him out.'Greatest show on turf'!

Haha! Geez, you have some pretty high standards to be considered dominant I guess.
