Crennel on Stanzi

''We’ll have to feel good about whoever we look at that he’ll have a chance to compete with Stanzi or he has to be better than Stanzi, which might be tough at this point,'' Crennel said.

No QB's drafted by the Chiefs. Encouraging for Stanzi.

Nice to hear.

I'm not saying he's a starter but I'd like to see him at least get a shot even if it to be number two.

Last year's performance vs Pittsburgh was an abortion, an inferior KC team was hanging with them even though Palko had one of the worst qb performances you'll ever see. A decent coach would give the peanut vendor a chance before letting that guy on the field to throw another stupid int to lose the game at the end.

I have a lot more respect for Romeo than Haley. Hopefully Stanzi will get his shot.

I really never got the no playing Stanzi plan last year. Even when they were losing bad last in a game they would still chugg along with Palko.

No sense in hurting his confidence (even though us Hawk fans know that's not possible) or even letting the concept of failure enter his mind. Ricky probably wasn't ready, and that's okay. In a few years, it may well be his team to take over.

Well it was the point in a game where leaving in your starter even if it was Palko was a bad idea because of injury risk. I didn't really get that. Maybe he was trying to get fired.

LOL. Oh, Hawk fans...

Haley rode Palko all the way to a firing and a demotion.

I don't think it is necessarily the spite thing, but it was pretty obvious last year that everyone and their mom could play better at QB than Palko, and Haley dug his heals in and refused to try anything different. Then when he was gone, one of the first personnel moves that was made was to put Stanzi at #2 behind Orton. Coincidence? I think not.

I wonder if le Ricky has a bonus in his contract tied to being a management pawn? If he does, he shirley got PAID y'all.

Yeah seems really far fetched huh Ghost. I mean, Crenell wasn't on staff with Haley right? Oh, and Haley didn't get **** canned right? Oh, and a ton has changed in Stanzi's development since the end of last season right? But, I digress. If Ghost sez it then it must be so guyz cuz hez super smart n stuff.

I meant late in the season when it was obvious Palko wasn't the answer. This by no means equates to a belief that I think Stanzi is NFL ready.

Well, if Stanzi wasn't NFL ready, can you think of any reason why le coach wouldn't play him besides spite? I mean, we know that le Chiefs GM is SUPER high on Rick because he didn't draft another QB to compete for le 3rd QB job.

even late in the year it an argument could be made Rick was better off developing with a clipboard in hand

I'm sure there were a plethora of reasons, but spite was the biggest. Le coach and le GM hated each other. Le Palko was le toilet. The fact he was picked ahead of Flacco in college speaks volumes about le Stache.

No, you're wrong. You think if Stanzi was ready, the captains of the team would summon some pride and demand that they play him, rather than endanger thier bodies and careers to facilitate a spat between le coach and gm?

Yes, because Capn's of teams frequently commandeer teams from the head coach an GM. Happens weekly.
