He's gotta get some credit here.

1) The passing game is improved. No doubt about it.

2) He showed he wasn't gonna give up on a guy who fumbled on his first career carry. The early play call to get him a catch and some early success was a great call.

Honestly, except for about 2 drives, one of them being after Hesse's pick, I ranged from really ok with it to actually damn excited.
The overthrows hurt, but the will stil start to keep the safeties back a little more each game.

Number of runs and number of passes were dead even. I'm ok with that.

Beats the hell out of that GD horizontal passing offense.

I agree but the running game calls are a bit off. Hopefully he will get better there. I also can't stand the 3rd and 18 runs.

Some of that is execution. I expect too see Daniels play better than he did today starting next week.

***Edited for crappy typing.

He just needs to clean up the wtf moments when calling running plays. Go with what works, instead running up the gut 3 times in a row with the box stacked or running to the short side of the field on 3rd & 10 with a stacked box.

why are most so negative against Brian? its Phil Parker who should be taking the heat as the D-Coordinator. ISU shredded Iowa on passes today. I thought Iowa's D looked really weak at times, and they aren't in game shape. They looked really tired mid way through the 3rd Q.

I watched PSU vs Pitt, and the Lions are going to be really hard to stop on offense two weeks from today.

Pisses me off when we run on 3rd and 18. Pass the damn ball. Go deep, if its a pick it just like a punt.

But that is KF playing field position. So it is what it is.

Hey! Nobody saw it coming now did you?

Point taken, we need to run it more on 3rd and long.

I will also add that the offense bailed out the defense today. I hope that becomes a regular thing considering the imbalance built up over 2 decades.

This offense today took me on a wild ride of ups and downs of emotion.

from incomprehensible dessolation to just shy of the beatific vision

Are you saying you like run-plays on 3rd and 18?
Wow, just wow.

You are really stretching on that one, and I am sure you even realize that.

Just because I pointed out that there was some execution issues on the offensive line, doesn't mean I liked all the calls.

Stop acting like a toddler towards anyone who doesn't agree with you at all times.

Brian called a really good game today. He's putting playmakers in positions to make plays, and getting people open all over the field. Stanley will start hitting more of those dep balls, and we will see this offense humming

Loved it. Bf used matchups more thab any oc since snyder....mlb on wadley. TE s in safeties. There were a ton of points left on the feild as well ...not just in overthrows either.....so many one more blocks or if the back were a little more patient plays. Love seeing butler and wadley in together. How many people caughts balls today even fb flat throws. Teams now have to defend the entire feild against the hawks!....Finally no more excuses about execution just gameplan and work ti your strengths unlike under GD who quite honestly seemed tired and bored.

It's still the Iowa offense, but you can CLEARLY see the differences already when it comes to our passing game. We never threw downfield this much under Davis.

What was the average distance on 3rd down again? This was not a good game for the Iowa offense or defense. Brian's play calling was atrocious and had it not been for Wadley, this team gets blown out today. Lucky to come out of here with a win.
