Craig Robinson

He has done enough for people here to be infatuated with him...

Craig Robinson at OSU -- His current record is 30-33 and 13-20 in conference. Impressive.

Maybe they are infatuated with Craig Robinson the actor.

or

Maybe because he is the brother in law of the president.

hopefully it is not because of his outstanding record.

You guys do realize that Oregon State was 0-18 in the Pac 10 the year before he was hired, right? His team is currently 7-9 in the Pac 10, he's also done a nice job recruiting out there. Ferentz was 4-19 after his first two years, you don't turn around programs like this overnight.

7-9 in the Pac 10, you know the one BCS conference that is so great that they are going to get only 1 NCAA bid. Yeah, that conference. Come on man.

Yeah the conference is down this year, but what does that have to do with Oregon State showing improvement each year under Robinson. He's brought in two top 100 recruits the last two seasons, I fail to see what's so wrong about giving him an extension.

His record is worse this year than it was last year and the conference is worse than it was last year. How's that improving?

You must be an Obama Kool-Aid drinker. I'm a Lick Kool-Aid guy, always will be.

No this has nothing to do with Obama. I just don't think he's a terrible coach and I don't think his extension was unwarranted. His conference record is better than last season, which I think is more important than overall record, and I don't see how you can argue about his upgrading the talent level at OSU.

He came into a program that was 0-19 in the league the year before, and got them to .500 ,I believe, and then won the CBI post season tourny.
This year, they had to rebuild, but have fought back to respectablity.
Meanwhile in 2 years of recruiting he has locked up at least 5 top 150 players(Rivals) from around the country. Their future has never been brighter, which is why they are making the pre-emptive move to secure him. If lick had even signed a single top 150 in his 4 classes, Iowa fans would be more patient. Robinson has brought in top recruits from maine,NJ,arizona, chicago, and Ca....to Corvallis, which is no garden spot. He even has a 2011 top 150 kid already committed...so yes, is there any reason to think he could recruit to Iowa when he is a former NW assistant, former Chicago HS stud,Princeton stud, and is the brother in law of our first african-american president? I think so. He would be greeted warmly in any black recruits home in America I suspect, especially if he was not stuck away in the corner of the country and was in the top conference in america with BTN penetration in 78 million homes....just my opinon.

LOL, there are way too many people out there that don't get it and want what the hottest thing under the sun is. I just don't understand the infatuation of a lot of people with Robinson, other than his sister is married to the President.

Lickliter will be our coach for a long time.

This is silly, if Lick had 1 150 player in his recruiting class people would be patient. You know better than that.

Here is one that has multiple top 100s and is 94 in the RSCI rankings, but no big deal.

So do you think Lickliter is a better coach than Robinson? And if you do, what has he done to prove this?

I don't know anything about the guy but he has actually made a little progress. Then again when you're 0-19 it doesn't take much to show progress.
