He admitted he was wrong, he didn't deny it, but he said that he was fighting off his back and in retrospect he was completely wrong and accepts responsiblility. I thought it was classy and while he was wrong atleast he admits it, I don't think once someone aplogizes we have the right to disect their apology, he was wrong, he admitted it, move on.

You and I will differ. If he only apologized, fine. But he tried to give a reason - he was being choked out, etc. If you are getting choked out and frantically trying to get out of hold that is causing it, you don't calmly line up the shot a couple of times and then deliver the blow. He is sorry because of the uproar - he intentionally kneed Metcalf in the head and was certainly not sorry at the time.
Choking someone out is legal in college wrestling?

As state elsewhere, chokeholds per se are illegal, but in some positions with perfectly legal holds, you will find some difficulty breathing. Do you know wrestling or are you just stirring the pot?
Not questioning that some holds will cause some problems, so calm down a bit. Your post said "being choked out" which I interpreted as Metcalf having his hands around homeboys throat.
Which would be illegal.
