Could Wisconsin make the NCS Title Game?

The computers are not exactly favoring Wisconsin right now and Wisconsin doesn't have a late game Top 25 match-up, but my prediction will be that Wisconsin comes out as #7 in the BCS today meaning it will only need to move-up 5 spots to make the championship. Does this turn around and favor Iowa making a BCS Bowl or not. I will have to think more about it, but what does everyone else think?

If Wisconsin wins out, then I think they will more than likely be in the top 4 of the BCS rankings (Alabama and Auburn play each other and TCU and Utah do as well) guaranteeing them a BCS Bowl. Even if they are top 5 or 6, I don't think a #8 - #10 Iowa (assuming Iowa wins out) will get picked ahead of them if MSU wins out and goes to the Rose Bowl. Iowa really needs Wisconsin or MSU to lose and the quicker the better in my book.

doesnt matter when Wisky goes down...we just need it to happen and we need to win out....simple as that. Wisky would like MSU to drop another game though but MSU is of no concern to us if we win out

If we win out, and Wisc and MSU do the same, we will have a three-way tie for the Big Ten title, obviously. Crazy part is we may end up in the Outback Bowl... Or lower... Cap One would select a 10-2 OSU team over a 10-2 Iowa team IMO.

Worst part about the Wisc loss is that we no longer control our own destiny.

Alabama is the big winner yesterday

I have a disgusting feeling AL will weasel their way back into the NCG. They beat Auburn, then win the SEC CG, and people vote them higher in the polls, giving them a computer bounce, and next thing you know they're facing Oregon in the NCG. I really hope this doesn't play out, but I have a terrible feeling this is how things will happen.

Also, I think the loser of AL and Auburn stay ahead of UW, as long as neither blows the other team out. And if AL would happen to whip Auburn, I could see them jumping to #2...of course all that could change if LSU nips AL next wk.

This is how it all works. There are only select teams that are allowed to lose and go to the title game no matter how pathetic there schedule is cough cough Nebraska. Anyway this is how it works. If your name is Texas Oklahoma, or Nebraska have only one loss then you’re in, Michigan, or OSU you’re in, USC you’re in, lastly any team from the SEC. It’s pointless to even try to talk about common since when it comes to college football. It’s all about perception not about reality, yes there is some reality mixed in Ex.. BSU should not go based on who they play and if it came down to a one loss Iowa team and BSU then BSU go’s because all you would hear is how they are legit and they deserve a chance to prove it the national media has no problem hosing Iowa, but if it comes down to say Nebraska and BSU or any of previously mentioned teams then all you are going to hear is how week BSU schedule is and how they don’t belong. I love college football but when it comes down to determining who are the best teams it’s all a bunch of BS and I don’t want to hear that’s why we need a playoff because that would change nothing. This is not the NFL where teams play each other head to head more often during the regular season. You have 100 + teams in college so who the best teams are is still going to come down to the “expertsâ€￾ opinion.

I dont see where there is any Bias. All you did was name teams who had the best shots at making the MNC game. So what if tradition and name recognition come into play. How do you think we get chosen ahead of teams for bowl games?

He is talking NC game, not bowl games. They want two BIG names in the title game. After that they want to sell tickets, and attract fans in droves to the bowl games. It is two different things.

Ok you want an example? MSU loses to Iowa the number 18 team in the country at the time on the road and they are ranked what something like 14th. Nebraska gets beat down at home ageist a very bad Texas team and they are still in the top ten. They have wins ageist two overrated top 25 teams. Mizzu is a top 25 team, but OSU is not a top 25 team despite where they are ranked. Alabama beats PSU and that is held up as proof that they are the best team in the country. Iowa beats them at home by the identical score and it means nothing. I could go all around the polls and point out all of the biases team by team. Iowa has to prove they belong yet Nebraska a team that hasn’t beaten anybody for 10 years leaps all the way to the top based on what? I’m focusing in on Nebraska because I think out of all the teams with exception of teams in the SEC they get favorable treatment more than any team in the history of college football. If Iowa had lost at home that badly to very bad Texas team they would have fallen out of the polls. But when Nebraska does it then they just had a bad game. Really they haven’t beaten a good team in 10 years and they lose again to a team that isn’t even any good and they are still in the top ten? Based on what?

I still dont buy the SEC Bias BS. Remember when Auburn got the shaft in 04/05?

Ok why is the SEC so good? who outside of there conference have they beaten to be rated so high? The Big Ten toor it up last year in there bowl games but where is the love?

There is no Bias Period. What about Iowa being the highest ranked 2 loss team. We're ahead of teams like Arkansas and SC. Arkansas two losses have been to bama and Auburn while SC not only beat the then #1 team in the country, but one if its two losses is to the current #1. Again I'm not seeing any SEC Bias. If we would have beat wisconsin, we would probably have been in the top 6 right under Alabama.

There are definitely bias' in the ranking's, no doubt about it. keokuk1 laid out some good ones. Don't kid yourselves, the media wants to see certain teams at the top and only put the Iowa's, etc. of the world in the top 5 when they don't have a choice. See Iowa last year.

Craig James was creaming all over Nebraska because of their win over Missouri. He's like they beat number 6 in the BCS, then they deserve to be number 8. Iowa beats number 5 so they should be......no mention there.

You just made my point. Florida is one of the worst teams in the SEC and they are still getting top 25 votes so is Miami but they fit into teams mentioned earlier. As for Iowa they have played one of the toughest schedules out there. Yah they have lost 2 games but both of the teams they lost to Iowa looked like they were the better team in both games. They beat themselves in both those games. Despite the fact they made huge mistakes they still had a chance to win in the end. And both of the teams they lost to are either in the top ten or very close to the top ten. And I would say that Iowa has been building there resume for the past ten years by playing and beating the best teams out there. They had on the front page of the DM register that Iowa’s recorded since 2000 ageist teams ranked in the top 5 was 3-3. I would say that is a pretty good record wouldn’t you. Now contrast that to Nebraska’s record since 2000. You have some legitimate points when it comes to SC and Arkansas but as I pointed out with those points you just made my point do get the point lol.
