Could Next Year's Scrub 1-5 beat Lick Era All-Star 1-5?

I didn't forget Jake Kelly. Read the post again. Kelly had a career 1:1 assist/turnover ratio, though. With Sapp on him, I don't trust May and Gatens to help with ball security much.

Lick's team would take it...but it would be more of a game than some might think.

It's nowhere near that ridiculous.

Anthony Clemmons vs. Jeff Peterson (career 6 pts/3 assists)
Pat Ingram vs. Matt Gatens (the lone obvious mismatch)
Josh Oglesby vs. 19 year old Eric May
Kyle Meyer vs. Aaron Fuller (career 6 pts/4 rbs)
Gabe Olaseni vs. Jarryd Cole (career 7 pts/5 rbs)

Not exactly the Lakers they're playing. Even if you want to add in Jake Kelley, that dude is career 9 pts/2.5 assists.

Why use career numbers if you are only talking their time at Iowa?

You cant say "19 year old Eric May" and then use the other guys career numbers to drag them down. Maybe im way off but I would bet that Fuller, Peterson and Kelly's numbers at Iowa were better than their career averages.

Tyler Smith should be on Lick's side too. He was on the team when Lick was hired as coach. Was even at the introductory press conference, IIRC.

Good points. Still, we watched these guys play. I don't feel comfortable putting Peterson over Clemmons. I don't feel comfortable putting May over Oglesby. I don't feel comfortable putting Cole over Olaseni. Maybe I'm just a stupid person, though.

Jake Kelly could absolutely ball. And we don't have a true post scorer/rebounder that was as good as Cyrus Tate. If this 2012-2013 team had a version of Cyrus Tate, they would have been much better IMO.

He showed flashes of being a legit double double guy in league play

Also, Tony Freeman was a darn good player that never really lived up to his potential at Iowa. I'd take him over freshman-year Clemmons in a heartbeat. And Justin Johnson was a better shooting specialist than anyone Iowa had this year.

This is as dumb of a question as the ones who ask if Alabama could have beaten the Chiefs.

Or if the Baylor women could beat the worst Division 1 mens team.

No it is not. I don't see the point of stuff like this but your still talking about college players vs college players which is totally different.

6-10 wasn't even worth it to me. I think a team of:

Clemmons
Jok/Oglesby
Uthoff
McCabe
Olaseni

Easily destroys Lick's best.

Well, if you are throwing in Jok & Uthoff, the Lick's All-Time best does not stand a chance.... Ogs will drain them next year, too. Mark my words...I am saying close to freshman year stats. Although, he might not hit 47% from the 3 again. But...
