Could Iowa Meet IA State In A Bowl Game?

I think the only bowl tie in game between the two is the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Boy, wouldn't that be something if they met in that bowl & played a 2nd game this season. Hopefully at least Iowa keeps the pedal down and can play up to a better bowl. Chances are probably quite slim but I suppose could be possible.

I've thought about this. Would it be to regional of a match up, or would it be a big deal for a little bowl to have a rivalry? I'd rather not. Saw this over at CyFan and they agree (yes, CyFans and I agree on something). Let's play someone else.

I would not want to see that game. Once a year is enough for a ketchup & mustard assault on my optic nerve.

I would love it but I don't see it happening. I'm guessing that bowl would sell out very quickly. I'm guessing both teams are hoping for "big" bowls this year.....this weekend will tell the tale

I think it would be smart for a committee to pick Iowa vs Iowa State. let's face it, the game would sell out. It might also have decent ratings since the last game was a high scoring overtime thriller.

That being said...I wouldn't want to see it happen.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm still trying to get over the 54-53 NIT game the two teams played in '03.

Only chance of it ever happening is if both teams somehow make the playoff and meet.

Bowl matchups aren't only picked by conference affiliation and placement, but they try to ensure an entertaining matchup for television as well. A CyHawk bowl game wouldn't have a whole lot of appeal outside the state of Iowa, and we all know that TV sets dominate college football these days.
