I didn't realize giving up 147 yards per game rushing and 3.9 yards per rush is a terrible run defense. They are in the top 3rd of rush defenses in the country in yards per attempt.

I'll put it another way. Whether or not Coker can sway a teammate is neither here nor there for me.

But to say Mizzou has a terrible rush defense is a stupid way to start off the new year. Not only that, but Mizzou had a pretty good total defense this year. I can't stand them as I live in St. Louis, but they had a tough defense this year.

Coker and the offensive line was fun to watch in this game. I was there in person and it was an immpressive show by the Hawks as far as running the ball goes.

They were the first to recruit him. Best guess is that it's a deal where he's keeping them in his top 5 as a sentimental type of thing. Perhaps he's even told the coaches that there's no chance he's coming (letting the UNM coaches focus elsewhere), but he'll keep that a secret and keep them in his top 5 (giving them a little good pub). Not a bad bargain for UNM if that's the case.

New Mexico's coach used to recruit the DC area for Illinois. That is the reason. Locksley might have had a relationship with him prior to him leaving Illinois, and surely has a realationship with the school, giving him an 'in'.
