Cordless Electric Lawn Mowers

Anybody use a battery powered lawn mower. I just bought a Greenworks leaf blower with a 40 V Lithium battery. I see they also have a lawn mower as part of their line that I may be able to use that battery. The Lithium batteries are so much better than the older rechargeable NiCAD batteries as they don't lose power until completely drained. I wouldn't even think of getting a lawn mower prior to Lithium.

I'm not a tree hugger or anything, but the less oil, gas and maintenance that have to mess around with the better, especially after getting older. Plus, the mower is super light and can hang up when not in use. Just other advantages over gasoline powered. It intrigued me.

I was just wondering if anybody uses a battery powered lawn mower and if they liked it, disliked it, issues, etc.?

I bought a Stihl leave blower - spent $$$. Now I'm a man.

Until them I had a homelite blower, felt like a man with a small dog.

I think Electric mowers have come a long way - maybe my next move.

Ego is the best battery lawn products out there. I have the dual 15" line trimmer and leaf blower, getting the edge trimmer... When the toro mower bites it, gonna get the 21" self propel ego mower. 56V batteries....multiple level. the blower and trimmer are at least as powerful as mid range gas options. They ain't cheap and likely need 2-3 batteries to trim, mow, blow, and hedge all in one go for a bigger lawn....but they are easy peasy, quiet, and powerful. Only issue is the higher end batteries are expensive($100-$150) and I can tell after 2 seasons probably will need to change them out every 3-4 years.

I've been looking at getting one of these for a while as I have a pretty small yard. I'm just waiting for my current mower to die. I've been doing nothing but putting oil and gas in it for 2 years and the dang thing won't die.

I'm also looking at the greenworks. Those Ego mowers do get really good reviews but they cost about 200 bucks more and the batteries are a LOT more expensive. I'll try out the greenworks when the old one finally croaks.

I had a Homelite blower, mulch, vac combo. It ran good but was kind of a PITA. It was just so odd shaped that it was awkward to use, especially when trying to mulch/vacuum the leaves.

I just went with the blower now. Much smaller and streamlined.
