His father, Casey Beathard, is a country music song writer and coined this gem about HS football for Kenny Chesney, "The Boys of Fall". I get emotional reminiscing about the glory days everytime I hear it :cool::)

Ok ... But, by its original definition, a factoid is generally either false, spurious or unprovable.

Id probably call this a "fun fact" (assuming it's true)

Look reeeeeally closely at the kid wearing number 16 at the 1:50 mark. Now picture him with hair down to his shoulders... Yes, it really is him.

Since you didn't know his famous father, who has written songs for so many famous artists and has been nominated for Grammys, do you know his famous grandfather Bobby Beathard, former GM for the Redskins and Chargers? He won 2 Super Bowls as director of player personnel for the Dolphins and 3 as GM of the Redskins.
 
I usually crank this song up a time or two when fb season starts. Love it.
Had no clue CJ's dad wrote it. Damn....give me CJ and do it now!
 
Those videos are both great...the original really tuged at a bunch of emotions from days gone by (those coach speeches were always great and something you don't really get in most any other sport or disciplines)...required viewing if you were ever involved. And any mash up with Hawk footage is always welcomed! I vaguely recall seeing that one awhile back. Thanks for posting.
 
The moral of this thread is that the Beathard's succeed at everything and CJ should start for Iowa from now through his senior year.
