Conspiracy Theories

In light of all the JFK material hitting the media the past few weeks...I think we have one brewing in Madison this week. Is the Big Ten fix in the mix this week? Wisconsin is the only team with a shot at the playoff...close calls are likely to be directed their way by the league office.

Delany never acts alone.

It's been over 50 years lol

It's funny, cuz we already know the CIA & FBI were involved in the assassination.

I had the same thought in my head. Let's hope not but B1G refs are always a little on the "homer" side with their calls IMO.

We will be watching for this Jim.

Like someone once said, you have to be better than the refs. The world will be watching. Hard to hide on TV.

Well it's the little things that can be influenced by the officials. I once saw a punt (Saturday) sail off the side of the OSU punter's foot and land 10 yards out of bounds across from the 10 yard line. The referee in his infinite wisdom does that hand in the air bullshit where acts like somehow he's tracked it to a point in the stadium. He might as well put a finger in his butt while he's doing that because that may add some reliability to his process.

Now, in using the single football theory, that would require the football to make a 90 degree turn at the 10 yard line due to some pocket of hot air or something. It's unexplainable. I'm convinced there was a pigskin magnet in the grassy knoll under the stands...that hides some troll named IowaLaw.

Seriously though...that may have been the worst spot I've ever seen. Add up a spot here or a holding call there...and TV can't do anything to save us.

I saw the same thing on the BTN replay. Terrible spot ... at the 14:22 mark. Iowa fans at that end caught it right away. He probably missed it by at least 5-7 yards.

My conspiracy theory is that the B1G has a pretty good idea they are not getting in, they feign outrage at this travesty and go for an eight team playoff. The committee realizes the error of their ways; 8 team playoff, all P5 champs get a spot, SEC and B1G get two in from here to eternity. More money, more money, more money. Delaney is an evil genius.

Thought pretty much the same thing. First the resume building theory and, if they can't pull that off, then the "plan B expand the playoff" theory. Both are spot on. All I can say is "go Hawks!" and KF for B!G commish....

That punt was on of the grosses lies /bad calls enforced on the Hawkeye Nation - the magic punt

It's like you have a crystal ball or something!

I think the refs will be fair and impartial. The Big Ten is not the SEC.

LOL. He's actually holding his hand up to indicate he needs help from the referee or center judge (I think that's what he's called) to indicate where the ball went out of bounds. The ref or center judge tracks the ball's flight path and holds up his arm until the line/back judge gets to the spot where he (ref/center judge) thinks it went out. So that poor guy who stopped at the 11 yard line when it should have probably been AT LEAST the 20 (especially with the way the ball spins off a right-footed kicker's foot) was not so much to blame as the guy in the white hat (or the guy standing next to him near the punter).

Yes. It's really an easy call. The official is right there where the ball is kicked and can draw a visual line between that point where the ball was kicked and where it landed. The back judge walks along the sideline until he crosses line the referee is eyeing. Easy call. Can't believe they missed it by that much.

Be honest, this crossed my mind. Will Iowa be the sacrificial lamb this Saturday for the good of the conference as a whole. Talking a lot of $$$$.
