Connor McCaffery Winds Down Prep Career, Looks to Future

One could only infer from your comment that it is your opinion that he should pursue baseball and not basketball. Throwing in the caveat "if it were me" doesn't change that.

I just look at Connor and I think if that was me, I'd drop BB and put everything I had into baseball.

I pretty clearly stated that if it were me. That is a pretty simple concept, that for some reason you are feeling the need to twist and distort.

Lol. I'm not distorting anything. The saying "if it were me" is most commonly used to describe a persons opinion of what someone should do, otherwise why say it all all Dean? It's cool though bro. Tell me what you would do if you were George Clooney.

I don't think you understand the written language. If it were me means that is what I would do if it were me. Pretty clear, pretty simple.

If I were George Clooney, I wouldn't be a slavish tool of the liberal propaganda machine. That is just me and what I would do though

I agree with Adam."If it were me" is normally just a way to say what you think that person should do. When I read your post, I read it like you were saying that's what you think Connor should do. If you didn't mean that, no biggie. But it was easy to misunderstand.

PS, I wish you were George Clooney so we didn't have to listen to him.

I was willing to let this argument go, but since you went there. I would be remiss to not point out that grammatically your use of "if that was me" is wrong. The word "was" in your context is a past tense in indicative mood. Meaning you are speaking factually about something that had already happened. Since that is clearly not the case, I believe the word you were looking for was "were". Were would be the proper subjunctive mood and is what you should have used to express your hypothetical premise. Not to mention the improper use of me over I. Had you said, if that were I, then you would have a leg to stand on. It is a certainty that one of us doesn't "understand the written language". Feel free to accept that it is you, so that we may move on.

HAHA, going with the grammar card.....we haven't had one of those since Duff or Ghost. Now I'm not saying if I WAS Duff or Ghost, that is what I would go with here, but it is probably what they would do.

Just like Adam then, you would be wrong.

Lol. I am merely pointing out that the reason people misunderstand you is because you are writing with improper syntax. Words matter, and the arrangement of them even more so. Call it the "grammer card", but you were the one that opened the door. You will notice I didnt start by pointing out your basterdised English.

Words do matter Duff. I apologize for my miZtakes with the English word Ghost.

I said what I WOULD DO IF IT WERE ME. That is it, nothing more, nothing less, so I'm not sure at all where you are coming up with any of this shit. I didn't say he was going to pass on playing with his dad (made up by you). I never never said he was going to be a pro baseball player (made up by you). I never said I would advise my 17 year old to make any life decisions (made up by you).
On here it seems like all people do is try and read between the lines of what you say. Say your favorite color is red and automatically your a cyclone fan.. Just how it is. You know how you meant what you wrote. If others don't believe ya you probably can't change their minds.

"If it were me" would be to essentially put myself in his place. SO, to put it more simply: what I would do = what dean would do. Therefore, if Dean was a great Baseball player and a good BB player he would...

I really can't understand how you got that messed up, then got on someone's back because of it. I read your original response three time and still have no idea how you came to that conclusion based off of dean's original statement.
