Congrats to ISU!!!

They are hit hard at safety. They do have a spring JUCO safety coming in they beat other P5's for. Their top 3 CB's are back so there is talk about moving Ruth the 3rd CB to safey. Edwards and Wilkerson are both graduate transfers. I wouldn't be surprised for him to look to a few graduate transfers next year, safety, MLB and OL would be the candidates. Foster did fill in a game or two for Campos at LT and was one of the higher rated recruits from the previous recruiting class.
I take it you are a clown fan.......I mean clone fan.

So you're saying the players Rhodes couldn't win with Campbell could. If only you were smart enough to understand what that implies.
That with an extra year of development Rhodes may have had a seven win season? Let’s be clear: Matt Campbell still has a losing record at Iowa State. Frankly, what has he done that Rhodes hasn’t? One extra win is negligible.

say a crazy stat during game--their 5 conference wins is the most in their history in any conference they have ever played in! Even Missouri Valley Conf they used to play in! Couldn't fathom that stat!

A win over the 1st & 2nd placed team in the league, both were in the top 5 in the nation at the time. Not to mention he gets to 8 wins starting 3 QB's for the season, with each getting at least 1 win. Probably just a little difference there.

Paul Rhodes had some great upsets too. Fans were pretty quick to forget the 3-9 record from last year. Rhodes combined for 12 wins in his first two seasons, including an Insight bowl victory against Minnesota. Campbell has 11 wins.

I can't blame them for being excited that they made it to a bowl game. What I can't stand is all the glory talk that will be coming. You'd think they will be going to the final 4 next year. They lose a lot but hey we've got so much left. Well ok I can't wait to see this all unfold.

Okay let's do this again.

You just called out Campbell and Prohm as fakes. Implying they are bad coaches. But Kirk couldn't beat one of them and had a worse conference record than the other one.
That makes Kirk look bad, if not worse than them.

Uhhhhhh.... Where did I call either one fakes? I said they won with another coaches players. That's it. Can campbell recruit at the power 5 level? Can he coach up his own players at the power 5 level? Nobody knows. The same still goes for Prohm. Hell Gene frickin chizik won a national title with another coaches players.

Nice assumptions though dipshit. You get a golfclap. (Smh)

Agreed. I find it funny that after two seasons and a head coach with a losing record in his first two years, they think that with a couple upsets (and a couple letdowns) they think that this guy can have sustained success at a program that has never had any semblance of it. I totally get the excitement about this season. I don’t understand how any rational thinker can extrapolate past today’s bowl game. I supposed that’s the issue though, clown fans are anything but rational.

Go read the Oklahoma Sooners message board Land of Thieves and look what their fan base has to say about Campbell and what he has done at ISU and how it bodes well for the future if you don't think anyone else thinks the future is bright with Campbell at head coach. OU should be a pretty knowledgeable fan base.

You can link me if you care to, I might take a look after this game is over. I don't care enough to check it out myself. Though I do wonder if Oklahoma fans could be slightly biased based on their loss to ISU? The astute onlooker may also notice that I could also be biased. At the end of the day it's all conjecture until we have another year or two to judge or Iowa State puts together 9-10 wins. I'm not holding my breath.

Rhoads won with Chizik recruits. I think Campbell is a good coach, but you're not making the argument you think you are.

And Kirk was 5-3 against Rhoads, with 1 of those being a 3 point win over his worst team since his first 2 seasons. Not a great record, but he could definitely beat Rhoads.

I just think there's zero chance Campbell has any desire of making Iowa State his final destination. If he does amazing things in Ames he'll be gone in 2-3 years.

Campbell is 0-2 against Ferentz. Campbell is the best thing to ever happen to Ferentz because now Ferentz is not the most over paid coach in the state.
ISU may now find out what it is like to have teams prepare for them instead of looking past them..

And finally, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while (ISU)

Exactly! They act like they will be Alabama or OU. I have a friend who is a clone fan and during the Iowa game he kept saying this was their break out game and they are going to be a dominate program in football. Then they lost to us and he had egg on his face. I just laughed. To me, Memphis is like a mid major football program, just like Central FL. I hope Auburn just works them and Frost over.

I don't like him, but I think Campbell is a very good coach. He deserves the recognition. That being said, you better hope he settles into mediocrity, because he's gone if they win 8 games next year. I don't think Ames is his final destination on his life goals.

Oh, and he still needs to beat Iowa at some point.
