Ricky Stanzi alone is still better than their entire program though. It took you 127 years to do it, but you now have more bowl wins than Ricky Stanzi. Good job!
Too soon. At least that team made it to bowls, I guess.First bowl win since 2009.
Similar recent postseason success to another team I can think of...
It's a good thing Brian cares about beating ISU a lot, cuz they'd probably beat us by 4tds next year if it was just Kirk.
They lose their QB, best WR, and half their defense. They won't be as good next season.
That QB was their backup, they won today without both safeties I believe.
I don’t know enough about their roster but I feel like they’ll compete with Campbell and showed the ability to overcome adversity on multiple occasions this year.
Matt Campbell won with Paul Rhodes players. He's like the second coming of Steve Prohm

So you're saying the players Rhodes couldn't win with Campbell could. If only you were smart enough to understand what that implies.
I think Campbell is a good coach, but virtually all of ISU's best players were Rhodes recruits. We will see what Campbell does once those guys are gone.

I have nothing against Campbell. I think he's a very good young coach, but, no matter how you spin it, he will be losing some key players. Lazard, Ryen, Kempt (though, apparently he is applying for another year) and the entire left side of the offensive line all will be gone. Add in Lanning, Cotton-Moya, Trent, Waggoner, Wilkerson and Edwards on defense, and that's a fair amount to overcome. Everybody talks about the WRs, but where you really will be hit is at safety. You really don't know a lot about the ISU roster. First of all you said they don't have much back which is wrong they have a LOT of players coming back with experience and then you mention Campbell wasn't responsible for many of the players. How about
You obviously don't know a lot about the roster, because ISU has a ton of experience coming back. Yes, Lazard is gone but they still have Butler, Eaton, Deshaunte Jones who caught 40 balls as a true freshmen but they simply brought in a loaded WR crew. They are just fine at WR. Lanning is tough to lose but Spears and Harvey were really good all year at linebacker. They have a lot of experience on the defensive line and CB's, need someone to step up at safety. The may not get Kempt back but Noland has a very good arm and will be very good. Throws the intermediate strike like Stanley does, Noland throws a better deep ball but Stanley has a little better touch on short passes but Noland should improve on the touch with short passes. I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell doesn't pick up a grad transfer or two he has done that well up until now.

The next couple of years will be telling. The irony is that if ISU continues to do well, Campbell more than likely will be gone, despite the contract extension.
