Confused.

My only confusion is this: According to one NCAA Selection Committee member “The last teams out were, in no particular order, they were Alabama, Iowa, Kentucky, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Virginia,â€￾. If that's the case, how did Iowa end up a 3 seed in the NIT? Hey .. I'll give you Kentucky and Virginia. I'll even go so far as to give you Alabama. After that, there is no one in this tournament that is better than Iowa. We should be, at worst, a 2 seed.

But .. it is what it is. I'm gonna enjoy the ride. And when it's over .. .. I'll start thinking about next year, which will be better.

GO HAWKS!!!

We can't have it both ways. Iowa can't claim Illinois and Minnesota as good wins, and criticize their entry in the tournament at the same time.

Ahhhh .. .. but we can!!

Because they are both in the tourney, they ARE good wins for Iowa. Plus, Illinois is a 7 seed, which makes that win even better.

BUT .. .. Minnesota does NOT deserve to be in. They went 5-11 down the stretch. Illinois is questionable. Given their record and wins, however, I'm OK with them getting in.

GO HAWKS!!!

First of all, Minnesota is a terrible basketball team. Im not sure what these ESPN guys have been watching, or havent been, but this is a horrendous basketball team, one and done. Regarding Iowa, they had their chances. Every opportunity they had to close games out, they ****** them all away. Develop some toughness and leadership and they might be able to punch their ticket next year.

I actually think Minnesota wins first round, they got a lucky draw.

Slice it how you like, outside of WI and IL, Iowa did not beat anyone good in the big ten and lost to Purdue and NE (again). Almost beating teams does not count and I think too many place value in close losses. All Iowa had to do was not lose to NE or Purdue and win 1 of the 6 games they choked in. MSU won with a 22-2 run, and this wasn't the only game where a prolonged scoring drought cost us a game where even being awful in the last few minutes would have given us a W.

Well if those fat pigs from MSU are allowed to use tackles and head locks as if this were mma but White gets called when he got all ball what would you expect? The refs were clearly paid off and got desperate at the end. Gambling dollars at their worst here.

15 of 21 wins-USD, TAMCC, Howard, CMU, Gardner Webb, UTPA, CMU, SC State, Coppin, St, Penn St (2), NW (3), NU plus wins against Wisky, MN, and IL.

I can't believe people actually thought we were getting in

What do any of those letters say about our tournament chances? I don't think anyone said "we WILL get in."
Look at MTSU's resume, they beat Ole Miss and the other 27 wins (and 2 of their losses) came against teams worse than Nebraska.

Ya gotta let it go brotha. Gonna give yourself a embelizm.

I'm not saying we should be in, but I do have to ask what makes ISU a 10 seed and in? They are 3-8 vs. tournament teams this year or 27%. We are 5-9 or 36% plus beat ISU. So more games against tournament teams plus a better winning percentage. Again, not saying we should be in... but just don't really see what makes ISU 20+ spots better than us? Their non-conference schedule was ok, not crazy hard by any means.

But mom! I called dibs first...

ISU SOS was in the 70's.

IOWA SOS was in the 300's.

Yeah there schedule was just absolutely loaded... I guess like others have said the Hawks just need to pick up better cupcakes to beat in non-conference. ISU had very few good wins.

Minny lost to us by 20 and everyone said they were awful. They then beat Indiana like 2 games later (after losing to OSU by 96).
