Come to terms with my Nebraska hate...

Yeah, see I hate guys like this. I ain't got a dog in the fight, but Miami and FSU had some ungodly teams in the '90's as well. And Clemson has absolutely surpassed the glory of Nebraska. In a 4 team playoff, Clemson has been insanely good, losing only to Alabama. Back in the Nebraska glory days, you didn't even have to necessarily play a top 4 team to win the title. Now, in the Big Ten or SEC, you have to play a borderline top 10 team followed by 2 top 4 teams to win the title. The bar is so much higher today it isn't funny. And Clemson is clearing it with regularity (assisted by their bad conference, but they put up in late December and January). In all honesty, last year's Clemson team is probably a historically great team far superior to any of Nebraska's and on par with some of those ungodly FSU or Miami teams. They had 5 d-linemen drafted, 3 in the top 20. Their QB is likely the number 1 pick next year. They probably have two first round WRs on the roster. They destroyed #3 Notre Dame and #1 Alabama inside the span of 10 days. I mean, embarrassed the ever living shit out of them.

Like someone said, they just don't learn. Talk about no respect, that dillweed from Nebraska is trying to project onto us. Nebraska has no respect for anyone. They don't respect their old conference and they don't respect the b10 either. Iowa fans know what it's like. When Illinois can jump up and beat Wisconsin or Northwestern can play with just about anyone in the conference, you tend to respect them. Nebraska still seems to think every game should and will be a gimme and ta da you are playing in the B10 championship. It doesn't work like that in the B10.

I don’t consider Nebraska a rival of Iowa. I love it when Iowa beats them but, a rival? No.

So, when Nebraska says they don’t consider Iowa a rival, I don’t disagree. Iowa could never play Nebraska again and it would not bother me for one minute.

Also, I believe that Nebraska desperately wants to be back in the Big 12. They can never admit it. They will take the Big Ten money, but they know that they are a second-class citizen in this conference which grinds them more than they would ever confess to. But they can’t go back to the Big 12 with their tail between their legs. They’re stuck. That is the just desserts they get for their foolish pride and arrogance.

A Texas fan, a Nebraska fan, and an Iowa fan were out riding horses one day.

At one point, the Texas fan pulled out a bottle of expensive bourbon, took a long swig, threw the bottle to the ground, pulled out a pistol and shot it.

"What are you doing?" asked the Nebraska fan. "That was perfectly good whiskey."
“In Texas, we have more whiskey than we need," said the Longhorn fan, "And bottles are ch............eap."

They rode along for a while, and the Nebraska fan was thinking. Then he pulled out a bottle of champagne, opened it, took a swig, threw down the bottle, pulled out his pistol and shot the bottle.

“What are you doing?" asked the Iowa fan. "That was perfectly good champagne."

“In Nebraska," said the Husker fan, "We have more champagne than we need, and the bottles are cheap."

They rode along for a while, and then the Hawkeye fan pulled out a bottle of beer, drank the whole thing, put the bottle back in his saddlebag, pulled out his pistol and shot the Nebraska fan.

“What are you doing?" asked the Texas fan.
“In Iowa, " replied the Hawkeye fan, "we have more Husker fans than we need,
but bottles are worth a nickel!”

• My only concern is my neighbor.She is a huge Nebraska fan but I have convinced her that they suck. So with that said we can't lose or she will think they should be playing for the national championship. She qualifies as a delusional Nebby fan if they win a game. The Maryland win convinced her they are awesome again. She's blonde so there's that.

Are you sure she's blond? Maybe the drapes don't match the carpet.

Growing up in SW Iowa I learned early-on how insufferable Nebby fans can be. I recall how my neighbor was going on and on in the mid-90's about how he was literally certain that Nebby could beat any NFL team!
I truly root against the Huskers every bit as much as I cheer for the Hawks. LOVE laughing with every interception they throw and TD they allow. I laugh even more when the inept announcers use the now-archaic term "blackshirts".... good grief.
It's now 22 years and counting since Nebby football mattered, but the PATHETIC Husker-nation fans are still living in the 90's.
