Come on, BTN

It's 9 a.m. and the Tressel story is several hours old. There isn't an update on the BTN website or any kind of break-in coverage on the TV.

ESPN is covering it, not to mention ESPN2 with Mike and Mike mulling it over.

For the money the BTN is milking from cable companies, and subsequently my pocket, I expect better. This channel, overall, is a supreme disappointment.

Do you really expect a network with ties to a specific conference to release the same info as an independent source??

BTN is nothing but a huge fan site. They are crapping themselves right now.

You're exactly right, CAAR. You all have to understand ultimately their goal is to pander to various fanbases as best as possible (while at the same time not alienating any of the others). BTN is not an outlet that is just going to splash this type of news up there and wail away at it...they are going to carefully tailor the message (and I wouldn't be surprised if they semi-cleared it with O$U first).

There won't be any objective reporting coming out of that source. They all will be blah, blah, blahing the propagana, er, I mean party line. No negative news allowed!

Expecting the BTN to push bad news about the Big Ten is like expecting Fox News to push bad news about the Republicans.

Why the heck do you think that a channel owned and operated by the Big Ten universities would have an objective take on this? You people are stupid.

People watch this channel other than on game days/nights? Its not a news channel, but if they dont even acknowledge the story that is crazy. They can put out stories about it without making OSU look like the cheaters they are.

I would, at the very least, expect BTN to acknowledge the story. I would also expect it to somehow have a pro OSU, or again at the very least, a pro B1G spin.

There is no excuse for rolling over on coverage of the head coach resigning from the conference's most elite football program. I just returned from a Memoial Day BBQ and checked BTN again. There's not even a crawler with an announcement or any kind of teaser about future coverage.

My real gripe here is that when the network was contrived the pitch from Delaney and company was that we would see expanded coverage and commentary on this kind of storyline. "Focus" was a word thrown about many times in the interviews I heard. This is a slap in the face to all B1G fans.
