I agree with you that not fixing the punting problem was a fail by the coaching staff last year. As to why they didn't bring in a grad transfer lats year, I don't know, maybe there simply wasn't anyone available. When they brought in Coluzzi, Rastetter had been on campus for a year redshirting, so the coaches knew what they had in him. Yet they still went out and got Coluzzi. You seem to also be ignoring the fact that during the 2017 season, Gersonde had replaced Rastetter as the starting punter for several games before he got hurt. Why he wasn't better than Rastetter last year, I don't know.Sometimes players just don't pan out.I see you conspicuously skipped his junior year...
Coluzzi was brought in before Rastetter shit the bed so that’s out.
So...you said there were three punters brought in four years when there was only one—Sleep-Dalton. Coluzzi doesn’t count, and Gersonde...well...I don’t know what to say to that. You’re asking us to believe that Iowa had the two worst punters in all of FBS on the roster at one time (if Gersonde was superior why didn’t he play?)
Doesn’t add up no matter how you try to frame it. Part of uncle Brucie’s donation the past few years went towards the Punter Retention Fund.
If Rastetter is being given special treatment because of his uncle, why isn't he on scholarship?
