Colorado Unlikely to Start PAC 12 til 2012

Doesn't look like Big 12 can go to 9 games schedule until 2012 when Colorado finally leaves. This is going to reduce the exit fee for Colorado to leave the Big 12.

I wonder if the Big 12 will just cut their losses then and tell Colorado to get lost after this season. Trying to set up one year with 11 teams, only to have to change it all again the next year, would be a mess.

The Big 12 wants the money from Colorado (hell ISU has prob already earmarked it for the JT renovation!), they aren't gonna let them leave without paying just to make scheduling an easier task. Colorado clearly jumped the gun on bolting for the Pac-10 and didn't realize they could not afford the buyout. Either way you can't blame them for jumping from the sinking ship that is the Big 12.

Its kinda sad really, did the Pac-10 get any better by adding Colorado and Utah's athletic programs? And now, one of those schools can't even AFFORD to leave its old conference, talk about a weak addition(s).
