College To NFL HCs...

He's pretty clear that he wants his kids both playing for him. If Shadeur works out as a QB I think he's got a shot at it. With the salary cap the difference between the worst and best teams in the league is pretty minute so there's really no way he can get an edge that way, but I think with him being a Cowboy alum and the hype it would create might be something that would get guys to restructure contracts to play there. Stranger things have happened. This deal would hinge 100% on Shdeur, and the hype of it all being able to get a team inplace. That said, the playoffs are a one-loss-and-you-go-home thing, so your whole season can end just because of one bad night. Can he go there and win? I think so. But does that mean he can win in the playoffs? There's a whole lot more luck involved in single elimination tournaments than there
Well to do that Jerry would have to be all in for it. Not sure how they can get rid of Dak so easily when they just extended him to a 60mil/yr contract. Getting rid of him will be tougher to do then what Denver did with Wilson. I'm not sure there's a desperate QB needing team out there that wouldn't rather take a cheaper option/draft a rookie instead.

If Dallas hires Deion and they draft his son and find a way to get rid of Dak I'll be surprised and impressed.

They can get rid of Prescott, it’s just gonna take a whole lot of money. Personally I think the bill on this one would be too much. Pay off Prescott, pay a team 9 figures for their draft spot or give up a bunch of good players, then sign Shadeur, Shiloh, and Deion to big contracts. I’ll be impressed if they make it happen.

You can't buy draft picks in the NFL. Only trade players or other picks. Dallas would probably have to move up 10 spots or so. It would cost them a couple first round draft picks plus some kickers. Honestly, what they would probably do is Shedure would pull an Eli Manning and say he won't play for any other team other than Dallas under his dad. Somebody would call his bluff and draft him and they would work out a trade from there. I suspect this could get done, but it will cost Dallas.

The Dak situation is as bad. I cannot imagine who would take on Dak's contract. He would have to agree to a trade and restructure, or Dallas could do what Denver did and just eat a mountain of dead cap.

Then on top of that, you are hiring a guy who has never coached a day in the NFL and has a very average record as a collegiate head coach. This is also not a good roster. And the GM sucks.

Only Jones is dumb enough to do all this. He might.

I saw somewhere online where someone suggested the Cowboys trade Micah Parsons and a couple of early round draft picks for Mike Tomlin. People are really stupid.

It'd be absolutely wild. It'd be quite the 180 to pull on Dak with everything Jerry's ever said about him somewhat recently. I don't see it either. His sons that are doing the running of most of the day to day operations have to be telling him no... If he wanted to pull off a move like this he shoulda done it without having extended Dak like that. Dak wasn't worth that monster deal then and certainly won't be going forward. Now the Cowboys are stuck and are essentially at Daks mercy.

Unless Dallas is looking to just blow it all up and start over. Trade Parsons and Lamb too for whatever they can get. Just give Deion a total blank slate to start with just about. But again Dak can not waive his no trade and put a pin in it all so who knows. It'd be amazing to be a fly on the wall for all these discussions they've been having the last week or so.

Denver showed that you can release a veteran QB with a massive contract, take a monster cap hit for a couple years, and start over with a rookie QB on a paupers contract. I mean, Denver sort of showed that. They had the softest schedule and went 2-7 against teams with winning records and one of those wins was against the Chiefs Cheerleaders to sneak into the playoffs and then get embarrassed. So, they kind of did it.

Dallas and Colorado share a lot in common. A lot of hype, and some really, really great skill players---I mean the best of the best. But, they are missing the essentials. They spend all their time and money on the shiny parts, but don't get the glue guys on OL, LB, RB special teams, etc. Neither team has attention to detail because both are ultimately run by narcissistic carnival barkers who are more interested in being in front of a camera than in the film room looking for back up guards.

They did yes. The two scenarios aren't exactly apples to apples but pretty close. Dallas I think is paying Lamb top dollar for a WR and of course Parsons is getting paid so when you factor everything into what they have going on Dallas is in a tough spot. But they did it to themselves. When you overpay a B- qb A+ money it straps you. SF is about to be the next team to do that to themselves with Purdy. I suspect they'll pay him north of 50 million and they won't sniff the Super Bowl again while they have him.
