I can hear it now, "First we had to put up with the football team and now we have to put up with the Iowa basketball team that doesn't belong...blah blah blah".

I was just wondering when he notices Iowa's success and has to dis on to promote his show. That's all.

Only way I'd hear it is here if he does. I don't listen to his show. He probably don't talk much college hoops till after the Super Bowl if I had to guess. National radio shows tend to lean that way. Then again he's got like 3 hours or so of air time to kill so only the people that listen to him a lot would know

Cowherd gravitates towards whatever gets anyone to listen. You have the NFL playoffs and the continuing soap opera which is the NBA. He probably hasn't seen Iowa BBall play a single game.

The popularity of college football dwarfs college basketball and really the NBA too.

I know message board and all, but I hate the fact we even acknowledge this guy. The reason this guy exists is because he is a shock jok, he uses the same techniques that made Howard Stern popular. Nobody likes him but people tune in to hear what he will say next.

Why would ragging on Iowa boast his ratings? Iowa is a low population state with no professional sports. If you want to target a national audience, which he needs, Iowa isn't a good topic to boost ratings.
