Coker speed

The more I think about it, the more I think Coker has been messed up by coaching.

1) His natural running style is upright like Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson, and Tony Dorsett. The coaches have pushed him to run with his pads lower, which is killing his natural form and I think messing up his fluidity and cutting.

2) they did this all Spring and Summer without letting him get hit. What happened on the fumbles? He was running with his pads low and guys are getting under his pads and hitting the ball as he is crouched over. You need to teach a guy to keep it high and tight in those situations. This doesn't come naturally. You learn it with practice of which he had none.

3) His vision is all messed up. Last year he glanced off guys by sliding at the last second. Running crouched over has taken this away and now he is just plowing into guys.

Let the freaking guy run if you haven't messed him up to much already. He has shown he knows when to lower his pads. Now let him stand back up and do his thing.

I would second this, but I remember my track coach begging me to not run so tense and not lean back on my 400's. He would try to coach me to run a certain way, and even though I would start as coach wanted I always went back to my old ways at about 150m. People run the way they run, It is so tough to change even when that is the only thing you have to think about. He has too much to think about on a given play to focus on a certain way to run.

I would like to see him cover the ball with two hands if he is getting sent through the hole in either the A or B gap.
