Cody Larson did not play in last night's game. From the ArgusLeader:

Roosevelt 57, Brookings 56 (OT) in Brookings - Jared Bartling's 20 points led the Rough Riders to the non-conference win. Adol Aluong had 12 points. University of Iowa recruit Cody Larson and fellow starter Grant Wynia did not play. For Brookings (8-11), Ryan McCutcheon scored 18 points and Matt Crawford 10.

even if its true that he got arrested, what was alleged is no big deal. just dumb kid stuff. but of course iowa fans will overreact if it does prove to be true. and of course he has to be terrified of even trying to have fun in iowa city, because if he gets a stupid little thing like possession of alcohol, he will be riding the pine and suspended.

Actually it is a big deal if what he did is true.

yeah UNI's starting safety was booted for something similar (to what is rumored) a couple years ago. it is a felony.

I think we need to nip any speculation until the facts are out. Not fair to anyone to just go off of rumors. Might turn out to be nothing, hopefully.

bad rumor on Hawkeye Nation [Archive] - Hawkeye Lounge

found this on google, but not sure of any accuracy at all. Some of the posts are interesting:

"Lick has lost control of his program"---How is Lick supposed to control his recruits while they're still in highschool

"They're a surefire sweet 16 with him"--- It's going to take more than Cody larson to get us to the sweet 16 next year

Again, not sure of the accuracy of this, but it's all I could find.

Wow is all I can say. I think most of us were hoping that Cody would be able to give us quality minutes next year at least off the bench. Now w/ some question of his toughness (missing four games w/ an ankle sprain) and this incident it does make you wonder if we will be able to count on him next year.

I thought that w/ Iowa going for under the radar recruits that we wouldn't have trouble like this. Now w/ Tucker and Larson it is getting even more frustrating. I really hope this is nothing and he makes it to campus w/o further problems.

Who in their right mind would question someone toughness for missing 4 games due to an ankle sprain?

Wasnt UNI's player arrested for filling prescriptions and selling them? That sounds a lot worse than Cody allegedly taking pain pills

The guys on HaLo are just having fun w those quotes. It's the sort of thing that message board users used to say in the past when Iowa would lose a recruit. It's all about context.

i totally agree, but one of the charges would be the same.

i just really skeptical about this, because with his ankle issues Cody probably has a valid prescription for some sort of pain pills.

it is a felony.

Whoa, whoa, whoa there...we don't know what, if anything, the kid is accused of. It would be nice if people didn't start throwing around terms like the above before any of that is known--recognizing that nothing may ever be publicly known.

If that was the case, it seems odd to me that the coach wouldn't be aware of the fact that one of his players was taking prescribed pain medications due to an injury. Why "suspend" a player, or whatever you call it, if everything here was legit?

Do we know for sure that Larson was held out of the game due to disciplinary reasons, though?

This Google Ad came up... ooooo....

Could be more serious than discipline.
