Coaching bonuses detailed

I like something called a longevity bonus. I think I'll try that one at my work and see how it goes over.

good god...McCaffery gets a $350,000 raise simply for making the tourney?!

And if you asked him about it, he would say "body of work." Good grief what some can make (coaching sports) that would take others 10-20 years to come even close to that pay raise.

I think he is paid almost exactly what he deserves, given the market. Yes, that bonus seems silly, but since Mr. Davis left, we are not a program that just makes the tournament every year. So, I like that there is a huge incentive for Fran to get to the tourney. But overall, he is average to below average in pay in the conference, which is about where his performance as a coach suggests he should be.

At least Bluder got $25k for National Coach of the Year. o_O
And 1/10th of what Fran got for going to the NCAA tournament. Is it that much harder to get the men's tournament? Don't answer that.

OTOH, it is a bargained for agreement.

Pull up the wave kings bonus structure if you want to really be taken aback. I even think EJ still gets a bonus if he gets enough tight end recruits to try his butter burgers. Win-win

Is the bonus schedule against Title 9? What would McCaffery get for being named CoY?

Is Barta setting himself up for another several million dollar lawsuit?

Fail. In one of the most successful yrs in Iowa history, they averaged just over 5k fans/game. No one cares. Try again

I went to a few women's games this year. Kind of hard to say no one cares. The crowds were more into it than most men's games I have been to. Per the article they averaged 6,800 in attendance. Not "just over 5k...". That is a 24% increase. How big was the increase in men's attendance?

Having said that, it will be interesting to see how long it takes to rebuild following Gustafson's departure and how that might affect attendance.

But to me the most salient part of that article is Barry's quote about not budgeting for the women's basketball bonuses. Again, what a DUMBASS.

So he doesn't budget for $200,000 in bonuses for women's BB, but he budgets $2 MILLION for Ferentz and Family bonuses?

Why would you admit that anyway? This should be enough proof he is a sexist idiot. If you happened to still be wondering.

It appears he is basically admitting he has set the bar too low for Ferentz and Family bonuses and too high for women's BB. See above. Dumbass.
