Coach Sherm = Deer in Headlights!

At one point he's just sitting beside coach McCaffery minding his own business & earning his paycheck, next thing coach McCaffery gets the ax & he realizes "Crap, I'm leading this horse!". Did you see the shot of him sitting on the bench. Deer in headlight moment. lol. Luckily, coach Speraw took the reigns.

I, for one, don't mind what happened as it shows his pashion. If it only happens once this year that's fine. Obviously, this can't happen 2-3 times a year. But, I like the energy. Now if he can only control it just a bit more. But, it brings exposure & guys like to play for coaches like that.

The first thing I thought of when he got the ax was "Well, there goes some potential out-of-bound sets". McCaffery usually has 2-3 pretty good ones that work in a game. That's the kind of thing I thought they would get hurt the most in. Oh well. It's over so we need to move on.

I don't even think he really initiated contact. He never even extended his arm or any part of his body. His problem is that he pursued & got to close to get caught. Look at the bright side, maybe this will pay more dividends for this team going forward. :D

I thought Speraw was #2, and it appeared he was doing the coaching when fran left. I know the announcers said sherm would take over, but like so many things, i think they were mistaken.

You are correct. I don't know their titles but I know Speraw is the #2 in game coach.

Dillard did have an "oh sh!t" look on his face last night. Maybe he was worried Speraw would eventually get thrown out too... Hahaha

Sherm sort of always has that look.

Yes, he does. I also think the announcers were wrong in assuming coach Sherm was taking the reigns. It did cross my mind if he said to Speraw, "Why don't you take over?". It looked like a big CF on the sidelines. What an epic game & situation.

Those announces were crap last night. Especially Kelly agreeing with every stupid call the officials made in favor of his badgers.

After seeing the replay of the Marble charge and Olaseni goal tend he called them good calls when that replay clearly and blatantly showed them to be wrong.

Ben Brust standing in one spot motionless for an extended period of time and then getting a pass for a three was "Brust always finding ways to get open"

It was that kind of annoying crap all night from Kelly.

I'm disappointed in you not being able to notice when announcers are talking out of their a$$es. Seriously, did you really think Sherm was next in line?

For any still confused on this issue it has already been announced that Speraw will be coaching the team Thursday night while Fran serves his suspension.

I wonder who's going to announce Thursday's game, either Shonn Morris or Tim Doyle. Hey, at least those NU grads are smart, sometimes objective, and talk about opponent's players unlike homer Mike Kelley.

I thought Kelley was pretty complimentary toward Iowa in the first half, when they actually deserved compliments.
