Coach Lick was at the game sitting with Iowa asst. watching the Williams/Alexander match up. He stayed until Kirkwood opened it up by twenty with something like 3 mins. left. Apparently he was interested enough in them to show up himself. No question who won the battle.

Good to hear that he was out personally scouting these players.
I presume the team is in Evanston already, right?
I suppose he had to drive up there after the game...late nite with snow over here in Chicagoland....everybody be safe!

Nice to know that Lick is showing his face on some recruiting. After hearing that he let most of his assistants do the recruiting that had me scared. Even though it seems that the assistants are probably doing most of the work. If I was a recruit I would like to see the head coach at games.

5 more players on the team possibly and 1 lost. Assuming no transfers. Can't hurt things for next year at all. Hopefully a few of them can contribute right away.

so who won, Williams I guess your saying

Williams won the battle, this time he was playing him man to man for most of the game. He kept Alexander out of the paint and forced him into contested shots. Stats link isn't very good, Williams had, according to KCRG, 15 pts. 12 assists and 6 rebounds. Alexander had 19 pts. but five came in the last min. when they were down by 20 and Kirkwood was just letting the clock run out. Alexander is strictly a shooting guard. He had virtually no assists or rebounds that I remember. Williams probabaly would have had another 5 assists if the guys could finish the bunnies. Defense and assists are definitely as good as anyone around.

Nice to know that Lick is showing his face on some recruiting. Are you guys 3rd graders, maybe he should stop trying to send smoke signals to the recruits. Just send them letters and let my asst. coaches recuit everybody, maybe you could let the asst. coaches run the games and Lick could sit in his office. Some of these so called Hawk Fans are Funny.

Miami are you saying that people are 3rd graders for saying it is good for a head coach to go watch a game of a recruit? Confused on your insult. I must be a 2nd grader. Glad I could amuse you though.

Ferentz goes as far as watching some basketball games of recruits. I don't think that is a bad thing. Maybe you took my post the wrong way?

To clarify I was glad to know that the posts prior to this weren't true about him not being involved with recruits until a scholarship was offered.
