CMU right guard

I'm just trying to distract myself from the horrible ending to this game. Plus, I was a psych major, so it interests me. For anyone watching on TV, after the announcers pointed it out, did you notice the CMU right guard touching the center? As they came to the line, he wouldn't set, he would pop up just slightly, and touch the right arm of the center, then set just before the snap.

This can't be some sort of design by the offensive line coach, because I can't imagine it would do anything for them. I'm guessing he has some severe OCD, and HAS to do this. It must be pretty severe if he can't keep from doing it in a football game..

I thought he should have been called for a false start on several plays.

I didn't watch it til the fourth quarter, but as I understand it, if he's not SET--doesn't have his hand on the ground--then he can move. That's how it happened each time I watched him. False starts are strange though..Times when I think it's obvious, it's not a penalty..
