... is not a word I would use to describe the Hawkeyes right now. Those are the games we're supposed to win this year. The better team did not win tonight.
 
They aren't 'tough'. Hard to play on the other guys floor but giving up an 8-0 run with the game on the line is disappointing.

They will continue to get better though

It's the same thing as last year. They've stayed exactly the same. Can't finish against a good team. They just can't do it and if they can't do it at this point they'll never do it. Awful.
 
I suppose all the answers throughout the second half when ISU would just start to grab a little momentum don't qualify as playing tough.

ISU has lost in Hilton THREE times in their last 40 games. Kansas has failed to finish in Hilton. Baylor has failed to finish in Hilton. Michigan has failed to finish in Hilton.

It's hardly surprising that they managed to pull it out. It sucks, but they've closed out better teams than Iowa in that building.

You honestly think they CAN'T do it? The problem is they aren't dping it. Having a ***** mentality like thinking they can't do it is what's keeping this team from greatness.

I'm sick of hearing it. This is not a young team anymore.. We shouldn't still be developing.. This team is built to win NOW. But it isn't doing it. Not against ranked opponents, anyway.

Why is it that Iowa is never "tough"?
 
Between 2010 Iowa football, a good chunk of Alford's time here and the last two years of Iowa basketball this choking stuff just wears you down. I'm so tired of it. There's nothing I can do though. It's not like I'm going to stop following the team. I guess I just hope they start closing some of these games down. If they good we'd be a top 10 team right now. It sucks.
 
Seems obvious to me that if we just didn't have as many dorky looking ugly white guys we would have won. At least that's what the doucher clown fans told me all week. Talked about how much more athletic they were and how they would win by 20. Guess I wasn't too impressed with either team. We can't close and they have crappy depth.
 
I do think they'll will some games like this one. I expected us to lose this game tonight because ISU is so tough at Hilton, but this one is really frustrating because we REALLY should have one this one.

You certainly don't expect to see your best player miss on the front end of so many 1 and 1's and you absolutely don't expect your best free throw shooter to miss them both when it counts.

I still think we're a damn good team and it's gonna be a great season.
