Clones 6 Spots Higher than Iowa in AP Voting

The writers must of forgot Iowa beat them on their own home field and has only lost 2 games by a total of 9 points against 2 ranked opponents.....one of which is now number 2 and lost on the last play of the game.

We beat them...which is the whole point. And we don't play in the worst division in the P5.
What division is worse? SEC East? What do you think our record would be playing Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina and crossovers? True we beat them but they have a better resume right now.

Lots of football still to play. Or, as it’s said in Young Guns, “many a slip betwix a cup and a lip.” Iowa State has everyone’s attention in the Big 12(10), and Iowa in kind of what people expected in the B1G. Let’s see what records are after Thanksgiving.

What they didn't forget is how we looked against Michigan St. Look how far the bar for Iowa Football has slipped,,,,we now get upset when we feel snubbed in the Others Receiving Votes Category. Sad!

All you need to say about Iowa football right now.

Reality is Iowa state had a chance to upset a top 5 team while playing on the road, and got the job done.

Iowa had a chance to upset a top 5 team while playing at home, and came up short.

Meanwhile the Iowa-Iowa St was early in the year and had to be decided in OT

Bottom line, ISU's upset of Oklahoma holds more weight in voter's minds than Iowa's OT win over ISU.

We play in the worst division in the P5 and we haven't beaten anyone good. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
This is simply a nonsensical statement.

Division strength of P5 is irrelevant to getting votes.

If Iowa State beat Oklahoma on their field with a backup QB then they just might be a good team. We'll see.

Illinois - terrible.
Nebraska - terrible.
Minnesota - bad.
Northwestern - not a bowl team.
Purdue - possibly a bowl team.
Iowa - average.
Wisconsin - good.

No great teams, and a lot of bad ones. The best teams are middling and good. No one is great.

Btw, Iowa is behind Nebraska in conference play.

If Iowa had beat a top ten team such as Penn State they would have of gotten more votes. Iowa State beat Oklahoma in Oklahoma. Iowa followed up their narrow loss to Penn State with a mediocre performance at MSU.

I agree. Division strength is irrelevant.

Um... Your ranking is based on who you have played, not future games.
Iowa has only played one team from the West thus far. How good teams are that we haven't played yet, isn't particularly relevant.

Illinois - terrible. Win
Nebraska - terrible. - haven't played
Minnesota - bad. - haven't played
Northwestern - not a bowl team. - haven't played
Purdue - possibly a bowl team. - haven't played
Iowa - average.
Wisconsin - good. - haven't played

The coaches' poll is a joke. The AP is scuttlebutt until later in the season. But by then there's only one poll that matters.

Iowa State had 5 votes after beating Oklahoma at Oklahoma with a backup QB.

After shellacking the worst P5 team at home, Iowa State gets 16 votes.

Oklahoma worth 5 votes.
Kansas worth 11 votes.

None of that matters in getting AP votes. Division strength doesn't matter. UCF and USF have played a bad schedule and it will only get worse. Worse than the Big10West. But they're undefeated without playing anybody.

And yes. Nebraska is ahead of Iowa. LOL!
They're 2-2 with wins over Rutgers and Illinois and got blown out twice at home.

But yeah, you win that point! ROFL

So Tennessee and South Carolina play a 15-9 game and let's make the SEC is great again mantra pops up.

But any Big10 game that ends up 15-9 and it sends football back 100 years.

Got it.
