Clemmons Will Be Key For An Iowa Win Against Indiana

We know what Uthoff will bring. We know what Jok will bring. Iowa has a lock-down defender who could play huge tonight. He will undoubtedly get assigned to defend Ferrell and if he can neutralize Ferrell, Iowa should come out with a win. I think that will be the match-up for this game. Take away Ferrell. The other Iowa players should be mismatches and produce on Indiana.

Gessel will be key when he is on Ferrell as well. So, comes down to how well Iowa defends Ferrell with the two point guards.

He's the most important player tonight by far and he knows it too. The way Clemmons has carried him self this year makes me think he's gunna have a huge game defense wise. The good thing is, if you know it's important that you have a good shooting night, the pressure might make you have an off night. But if you know you have to have a big night defensively, other than maybe picking up stupid fouls early, the pressure doesn't really affect your game. It should only make his better tonight. This game can't get here fast enough!

I am going to pay particular attention to this match-up tonight. I hope Clemmons realizes many will be watching this match-up and can realize the fans know how important his defense is, especially tonight. Having a lock-down defender on a team is absolutely huge.
I'm sure the coaches are challenging him for lock-down D tonight. It can really be rewarding to a player when playing tough D on a player all game and it is recognizable.

It's hard to stay 100% motivated game after game so they should set a team goal to get to number 1 on KenPom's defensive stat. It would give them a reason to give their all on every single possession.
