Clayborn's 'Only team in state' comment makes ISU Locker Room

Bulletin board material is worthless. How do you quantify it? Is it going to compel ISU to gain extra yards? Will it make XRob shake one extra defender? Nope.

At this point I hope Clayborn doesn't back off of the comment when he's asked about it. Even if he didn't mean it that way, he's gotta own it now.

I used to think this way. But if they post stuff like this, and its not just ISU, Doyle does this stuff all the time, they must think it creates something of a positive...whether or not that is realized is another thing. Probably no way to measure it

“It upset me,” defensive end Rashawn Parker said. “It’s like a slap in the face.”

As opposed to a devastating block to the face by Marshal Yanda which knocked you out....

HAHA! I remember sitting and watching that gif for about 30 min straight once. It never gets old.Hilarious choice of words for Parker there.

Guys, of course this matters. ISU4LYF told us that this will result in broken bones for ole AC.

Seriously though, I think it does add motivation in the preperation which does add to the field stuff, but if you get on the field still thinking about stupid stuff like this you will be worse off in the end.

Granted the quote was probably taking out of context, but if it helps with extra motivation for the team. I'm all for it. It should be a good, exciting game this fall in Iowa City. I still see Iowa winning it though.

Maybe Doyle should post the blog about ISU putting AC's comment on their bulletin board on Iowa's bulletin board. Or something like that.

I'm guessing AC meant it more like there aren't any pro teams in this state because he was asked about being tired of hearing all the hype. But whatever. Arnaud is smart for dismissing it since he is the one AC will be coming after every down.

What will be funny is if they lose to N. Ill. Talk about disrespecting someone, they are looking past them already.

So the best football player in the state (nation?) ripped the ISU program. Aside from being upset about it what exactly can they do about it on the field where it matters? Not much, other than take their b*tch slapping in Kinnick that is about to take place in a few weeks.

At least Arnaud has some common sense.

His response in the linked article is perfect - absolutely perfect. Instead to trying to defend his squad and coming off like a whiny b---h, he took the comment in stride.

Will be fun to see what happens come September.

Does anyone really think this comment is going to ISU more motivation than they already have. It is like their biggest game of the season already. They hardly need AC's comment to get them up for this game.

Yea, I agree. Every time these bulletin board comments arise the answer always seems to be that if you need bulletin board material to motivate you than you weren't motivated enough to begin with. ISU hasn't scored a touchdown in 3 years against Iowa (granted they won once), that should be plenty of motivation.

Arnaud seemed to be humbled after last year's game and not being able to score at home and he has carried that into this year. Can't wait for the game! Go Hawks!
