CJB Named Starter!!

Hoyer looked pretty good last night, his receivers just continue to make costly drops at important times, one big one by Kittle last night but he wasn't alone. And they signed Hoyer promising that he would finally be the man for once, so they aren't going to replace him when he is doing his end of the job. Hoyer was actually 16-15 as a starter in his career before this season, so not a bad record considering how many different teams he's played for. If they put in Beathard now, he racks up a ton of losses and looks like a bust. The only QB allowed to lose a ton of games and still have the media make excuses for him is Kaepernick. Everyone else is judged by how they actually produce on the field and if you lose games at QB, it stains you.

If I'm John Lynch I think that's exactly what my line of thinking would be at this point... Through 3 games Hoyer has shown he is still who he's always been. I'd say if you like CJ as much as you say then see what he's got. Give him 13 games to audition for the job long term. Hoyer isn't auditioning for anything but a future backup gig. But the 9ers spent a 3rd round pick that they traded up for on CJ. Hand the reigns over and let's get the future started one way or the other. Waiting till the last few weeks of the year would be just limiting the sample size of getting to see what CJ can do. This would be as good of time as you can come up with to do it.

I dunno Andrew Luck seems to be doing alright.. Drew Brees ( I know he's won a ring) has lost a lot of games lately. Stafford as well. So it's all circumstantial. How CJ looks is what he'll be judged on more so than winning or losing. It's easy to see he doesn't exactly have what Matt Ryan has to work with. I think most people think CJ was going to get to play this year at some point right? Why not get a larger sample size? Waiting till week 15 or so is just dumb. Teams are either in or out of the playoff hunt and the competition is just not the same. It'd be the most fair thing to do for CJ and they aren't paying Hoyer enough for it to matter about him. He's getting less then half of what the decent starting QBs out there are making. Hurting his feelings is irrelevant. He was a one year tops stop gap and that's only if he played decent...
