CJ?

Angerer was going thru the motions his first couple-three years on campus and entertained quiting. To his credit, he re-focused, buckled down and became an All-B10 performer and starter on one of the best NFL franchises as only a rookie. So these guys can "get it" and turn things around fairly quickly.

A freshman who is not red-shirted and he ends up playing on special teams all season doesn't paint a picture to me of a player that doesn't have the potential or talent required to be successful in this league.

Freshman year in college is shock and awe for most of us let alone someone that has to give significant time to a major sport as well as the academics......... all a part of the learning process.

I think Ferentz is a motivator. There may be a lot of things he's not good at, but I have to think that taking a smaller, lesser known program like Iowa and not having a losing season in a decade, with 2 BCS bowl appearances means he's good at motivating his players.

Take a look at Angerer. He wanted to quit. Now maybe Ferentz didn't have much to do with his return, but maybe it did. Look at Greene. Again outside influence, or Ferentz influence? There's a lot of guys that step up like that. Guys you wouldn't expect much from, that don't have amazing natural talent, but can perform on the field. Adam Robinson is another example.

I'd like to think that Ferentz will have a talk with CJ and either motivate him to become a great player, or he'll disappear. Either way the team should be better for it.

He sure is. Motivated 13 guys right into the hospital!

*cricket chirps*

Yikes. Tough crowd.

Anyway, I agree about the motivation part, though I think the past season or so has been a battle getting all these guys going. Hopefully though, he continues his history of learning from past mistakes, and finds ways to get the team fired up and giving it their all.
