Christmas Movies

The time will be upon us soon.

I know not everyone gets into it and some people think it's dumb and that's ok. But in our house Christmas movies are a thing we do every year and there are several that are required. We make a thing out of it. Here's my list...some aren't traditional, but they've just become Christmas traditions per se in the United States..

It's A Wonderful Life (Dad's favorite)
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Rudolph (stop animation)
Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Story
The Polar Express (my son's favorite when he was little, great movie)
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Die Hard
Gremlins
Elf
Scrooged
Home Alone

I've bought all of them cheap on Prime over the years so that way it's easy to get them all in. Don't have to wait for any of them to come on network TV.

otherwise, damn good list, but I dont start watching Christmas shows until Turkey Day, and I start the season watching the parade on TV.

Gremlins IMO is one of the most under appreciated Christmas time movies.

That's an awesome tradition. We have tried over the years, but haven't been able to get our kids on board.

Nevertheless, Lampoon is always watched in our house at least once per season.

Personally, I can't watch "A Christmas Story" anymore. Not a bad Xmas movie, but it became oversaturated beyond control.

Charlie Brown is a must but I believe PBS now owns the rights, so if you don't have it purchased, it's become harder to see.

One I would add is "The Year The Year Without a Santa Claus." The singing and dancing by Heat Miser's and Snow Miser's minions alone makes it worth watching. Hilarious.

It's a nostalgia thing for me, and I find as I get older I can relate to his old man more and more.

One of the cable channels (AMC?) shows all the 1960s stop motion shows, including ones I never saw as a kid, frequently having Saturday marathons. I love those things.

It's the version of "A Christmas Carol" that fits my style
