Children's Hospital Top Floor

Agree on the statue. On the rest, you're trying too hard.

I was simply asking how many people who make $60k gave $3k for the hospital, not a made up table designed to justify why the "rich" are miserly, selfish or should be taxed "more" because they can "afford it".

I'm very familiar with the poor widow. I even understand the Biblical significance.

Fair enough. Will grant that people on the lesser side of the income are less likely to donate to a hospital as opposed to other charities.

That said, due to the health of one of my adopted kids, I am very grateful for the work that people do at places like this. We'll likely be facing surgery at that very hospital in the coming months. I am especially grateful for people who volunteer to cook meals at various Ronald McDonald houses. Haven't been to U Iowa's Children's yet, but in several surrounding states.

They said on the broadcast that while the hospital was being built KF asked if the hospital was tall enough to see the field. When the answer was No, he and Mary led the way and donated money to add the extra floor. Not many coaches would do that ,it shows that he just doesn't think about himself but cares about others.
Absolutely not true. I saw the plans. The hospital was always going to be that tall.

That's odd, because I'm pretty sure the top 4 floors can see the entire field and the top 5th and/or 6th floors can see most if not all the field.

The Children's Hospital has 14 floors. This is the view from the 11th floor:

You are incorrect. The 11th floor is the highest floor. Floors 1-3 are underground parking. Yes I have been on the 11th floor. I have not been on the 10th floor. but I find it hard to believe the field cannot be seen from 10th. Also I don't believe the story. The plans for the childrens hospital go back almost 10 years ago and I doubt KF knew anything about them.

Oh my freaking goodness...Kirk haters/Cyclown/Cornholer trolls...what took you THIS LONG to sh*t all over this story? Since you won't believe me, since I'm obviously a Ferentz apologist and am more interested in a "certaiin family's" well being than that of Iowa Hawkeyes football, mayber Jon or Rob can, at some point, educate you with the actual story of the donation related to the "viewing window" and the Ferentz family input to the matter. Once again, sorry from an obviously overpaid, uncharitable, greedy FKF apologist.

Actually, the 12th floor is the top floor and yes, one can see the entire field from the top 4 floors. Also, there are 2 underground levels, not three.

Well, the story was complete bullshit, so....

Not sure if you knew this or not but there are REALLLLLLY tall people that sit in the east stands

HN posted a video that shows that the top 5 floors can see the entire field. Pay attention to the hospital when the recorder is standing on the east sidelines.

RMH is one of our "service partners" for the service organization I am in. We do dinner one night a month there. It's especially close to my heart because I had a brother who was hit by a car and in a coma for 27 months before he passed away. My Mom used to tell me how fortunate we were to live where we did (outside Chicago) so we were close enough to the various hospitals and rehab centers where he stayed throughout the ordeal. Her "plea" to me when our group had the opportunity was very direct: "I can't count the number of people we met who had to come halfway across the country and had no idea what to do". This was back in the early 1970s, before RMH and other organizations had become widespread.

Which, of course, is one reason I can't believe, in retrospect, that I thought The Wave was a "dumb" and "forced" idea. "Yikes" on me for that one!

Godspeed on any potential visits/stays that might be needed for your kiddo.
