Chicago WR/TE Eric Rooks Set to See Hawkeyes

I don't think I'd move this kid to TE. I'd keep him out wide. He looks really good from the slot. He looks like he has good moves to get separation, but not if someone is right in his face. He also looks like he likes to block and he hunts them, and that fits well with this staff's use of WR's. He looks to have really good hands. As a slot receiver, 4.6 is good enough. It'd be nice to have a 6'-3"/210 possession receiver.

I actually think this kid could fit in the move TE position that the Hawks have been building the last few years. He reminds me a lot of Kittle in size and speed (though I think Kittle is a little faster). Definitely the type of kid that the Hawks can move around to exploit defenses.

Gester, he certainly could be moved to TE. I'm just saying that I wouldn't. I like his ability to get open from the slot where he doesn't have a defender right on top of him and in his face. And I think he could become an exceptional blocker from the WR position and I think he has receiver ability. I certainly see your point. I just think he has the size and outside talent to be a WR and I really believe we need a 6'-3"/200 kid at the position. We've got a (again, potentially) excellent base at qb for the next 5 or 6 plus seasons. We need to get our qb's that can throw, weapons on the perimeter and utilize them.
