6'8" Forward

Haven't heard anything on here about him but he has some good schools looking at him. Jon Rothstein from CBS tweeted it this morning - I found this on a New Mexico site.

Williams is a Samford transfer who will visit New Mexico on Monday and Tuesday. Tim is currently on an official visit to Dayton this weekend. After the New Mexico he will visit Iowa shortly after and Wisconsin and Georgia Tech are also trying to get involved with the 6' 8" forward. The highly sought after transfer will be accompanied by his mother and father when he visits New Mexico. Wherever Williams chooses to play he will have to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules and would be eligible in 2015. Williams left Samford as the 14th player in the rocky tenure of Bernie Seltzer who is now the former Coach after parting ways with Samford last week.

He scored a lot at Samford. He would be ideal for our roster makeup. Redshirts this year. Then has two remaining years as a plug-and-play power forward. A position we will be in short supply of after White graduates this year. We need some plug-and-play bigs in a big way after this year.

17 and 7 at any D1 school would be a nice addition you would think. I assumed teh Hoknation would be fawning all over this kid and making proclamations about his signing impacting our NCAA chances in 2015 and how much of an upgrade he is from White. I was disappointed to find nothing on his visit.

Looks like a potential replacement for Aaron White after this season. Same type of game...long in the paint, not much of an outside game...but maybe a better postup game, which would be nice.

Love the plug and play tag and would really like to sign this player.....

Could be a nice addition. 6'8" is good height can't coach that.

Sometime equipment can make up the difference, OakRaiders......

Williams has about as different a game from White as you can get. White is very much a driver. Williams is not. Williams is a post-up 4. White's inconsistent scoring is partly due to the fact that he has virtually no post-up game. Neither has much of an outside game but that's rare for a PF anyway.

Looks like he might be a little better with his back to the basket than White? He would be a good addition. When does he want to make a decision by?

Fran hasn't really had a back to the basket forward since Cole, and he didn't recruit him. It seems strange to me that after recruiting leaner, fluid forwards in the Basabe, White, and Uhl mold, that he would be after a guy like Williams.

That being said, I think we need a back to the basket scorer, so I hope he's interested.
