Iowa has to play DEFENSE. They were in top 25 in scoring so imo defense is a big problem. When your offense is struggling a good defense can usually keep you in the game. Michigan perfect example.

Maybe we were in top 25 because we got the ball some many time after they scored MORE. If defense tightens up our offense scoring will go down.

Loved Loyola team play. No one player dribbling and trying to do it all. Think probably most of their players were passed over by P5 conferences. Name one guy on that team that we were after that signed with them. Their coach can coach with what he's got. Team offense and team defense. If you matched their starting 5 with ours before the season, which would you have taken? How many NBA draft prospects do they have? We hear all about other teams first rounders.

and watch how they move the ball with quick passing and ball reversal. And movement without the ball.

This is COACHING people...

Agreed...very nice offensive team...love the motion...love the fact that they have four guys that can take you off the dribble and not only finish, but create for others. That being said...I don't think our issue is on offense.

Fran needs to follow Beiein’s lead at UM and hire an assistant to coach the defense. Maybe Speraw can take the Drake job and FM can replace him w an assistant from Loyola, K State or WV. It would be a stepping stone job bc if he could make Iowa’s defense even average, it’d land him a HC gig.
