In the grand scheme of things, how important was beating Central Michigan today?? Not very!

So what? Crap happens! I was dropping f-bombs left and right and my wife was telling me to go away.. I was as ****** off as anybody..

But guess what? The big ten is down, the hawks will get better, and a brand new season starts next Saturday. This is a young team that everybody was talking about not being very good to begin with, let them grow. I commented on this board before the NIU game that we would struggle and that game worried me.. apparently I was the only one. Support the team... Hawkeyenation, you are better than this meltdown crap. The conference title is still up for grabs, trust that the coaches will get better and the players will get better. I got faith... do you?

Go Hawks!

Are you sure you shouldn't be over in the *Drink the Kool-Ade* thread?

Haven't had the kool aid yet today. You just got to look at the big picture. Iowa wasn't going to the national champ game, but we can still do well in b10 play. I just know with young kids and where we are today.. things will get better. Players and coaches will, learn from this. Like I said... We are 0-0 in the b10 and not many b10 teams are looking good.

Yeah we should look at the positive. 3 wins is likely this year and the whole program is regressing....yeah positive.

How important was the game today????? It is probably the difference between a bowl game and just staying home. But then again after how bad Iowa has looked the past 4 weeks staying home does not sound like a bad idea.

In the grand scheme of life, doesn't mean much.

But this isn't a life board, it's a Hawkeye board. In the scheme of Iowa football when a coach lets a team fall to the point that this team has fallen, it's pretty big.

Saying it doesn't mean anything in the BigTen, I would agree technically.

But it definitely means a ton in the grand scheme. Iowa just lost at home to one of the worst D1 teams. And that is a team that we let march right down the field to score a late TD, and then again to get the fieldgoal. This game doesn't count to the big ten record, but saying that "we will get better" doesn't mean much to me at this point because I think we need to get a lot better to be located in the B1G cellar.

This isn't about the fans. Iowa has one of the most loyal fan bases in the country. Boise state lost most of it's starters on both sides of the ball and they would probably come into Iowa City and mop our *****. It's about recruiting, it's about coaching, it's about discipline and we seem to be lacking in all of them at this point. If we are so young (gag and puke) then what was our great achievement in the last two seasons when we had older more experience players (several of which were drafted)?

At least we didn't lose another RB. Not that it matters at this point.

There is NOTHING positive about losing to Central Michigan!NOTHING!!!

This is why I have finally lost faith. The one position where we have every right to suck was the lone bright spot.

I hope for the rest of the season that Iowa can play with a little more reckless abandon and play 'looser' than close to the vest. With 8 games left I don't see what they have to lose.

Going to be hard to get to a bowl game with this loss.

I think THIS is the underlying cause for the anger more than anything. We needed this win and we needed to see some significant improvement, we didn't get it. This will be the weakest team we will play all year, we rushed for almost 250 yards, scored a few times, and still lost.... it will only get tougher now and there's not a lot to be optimistic about for 2012.
