Chasson Randle

He looks like he will be a good player before he is done. I can't blame someone for picking Stanford, tough to go wrong with that decision.
 
Who knows who might have picked Iowa had we not been a Jerry Springer team for the past few seasons. That is why these late losses are so painful. Say Weber gets canned and some IL kids want to look around....we aren't very attractive (again). We could really use a transfer from an established player after a coaching change.
 
Randle, Burke, Eli Carter and Cezar Guerrero are all having excellent freshman seasons. I sit here wondering what could have been if Fran doesn't waste his time and resources on Anthony Hubbard and focus on a quality point guard. What a costly mistake considering the wing position was already crowded in the first place.

cezar guerrero having a good freshman season?? smh he hardly sees the floor...im glad he didn't choose iowa

Ok bad example but he would get at least 20 minutes a game here. More opportunities on a team that needs an additional ball handler would give him better stats. My point was Fran missed out on a point guard by wasting his time on Hubbard, unfortunately you ignored it.

Cezar isn't a point guard, or at least he doesn't play like one down in Stillwater. Dude's been a black hole offensively. At the time, I was REALLY hoping we got him, but I think we actually ended up with the better deal in Gesell/Ingram/Clemmons.

That's just their offense. Keiton Page jacks up threes all game long. I for one would love to have Cezar in an Iowa uniform.
 
Question: How is Randall as a student? If he is a good student, he is going to get a fine education at Stanford, especially if he does not play in the NBA. Course he could have gone to NW also but their bb history is so bleak plus where would go...San Franscisco area or the part of Chicago where NW is located?

I agree that we sure could have used another ballhandler this year. How do you know how Fran allocates his time recruiting?? If we had gotten any of the players you mentioned. How does that impact Gessell's desicion to come here? If we don't get Gessell, doubtful that we get Woody.

Fran was at a real disadvantage when he came in due to the way Lick destroyed the program. You know nothing about his recruiting efforts.

What are you judging them off of? Recruit rankings, HS performance, and off season performance? You realize Randle was higher rated, played better for better AAU teams, and is doing great as a true freshman? At this point there is no case for Gessel being the better guard, much less any of the other ones Iowa has coming in. Iowa never had a chance with Randle, so the point is moot.
 
Your last sentence is my point.

We don't get Mike, we pry do not get Adam. Ill take a Center and a PG over just a pg.
