Fant must not realize that tOSU was the one who suspended him due to an internal investigation and not the NCAA. Knowing how tOSU hands out their punishments it must be pretty serious for tOSU to suspend him for a game. Perhaps the NCAA should get involved, they would have to vacate wins if they used an ineligible player.
I'm interested to see the nature of the "violation." Speculation is it's agent contact.
It seems like Ohio State is trying to cover its ass here just in case. It's not like it needs him for Maryland. Fryowa could line up at DE and the Bucks would win by 40.
He'd be reeling in those quarterbacks. He'll be real tired tho - he'll need a nap.
Fant would have stuck around for postseason if Iowa was in contention for a four team playoff. Unless his entourage had convinced him that he could no longer raise his stock. If he ends up being eligible to play the rest of the season, OSU is still in the running for the playoff, and he followed Fant's advice, he would be a pretty poor teammate.
Why would Fant or any projected top level talent hang around to possibly get hurt in one of the 50 meaningless (bonus...coaches $$) bowl games?Fant would have stuck around for postseason if Iowa was in contention for a four team playoff. Unless his entourage had convinced him that he could no longer raise his stock.
