Changing of the guard?

Wisconsin has been a top program for some time. There was a time when Wisconsin was a doormat (for a length of time) Not saying they are headed for the basement but they are headed down. they lose most of their key players and had a bad recruiting class last year. Im just not convinced this current coach will be able to change that course. Gee I hate to be saying that. The other top team Michigan State is clearly down this year but likely will be back, however if Bridges decides to head to the NBA i dont see them as a top contender next year. Purdue? Always seems to be near the top of the league but never makes much noise at the end They also could be drastically impacted by the NBA

So who will be at the top next year? Dare I say Minnesota? should be good, Northwestern has everyone back? Indiana if they keep all their current players including the injured, I think Ohio State will be better as will Illinois and Iowa

Overall a better league than this year but that wouldnt take a lot

Wisconsin was good because of a guy who isn't there anymore. MSU is good because of a guy who won't be there much longer. The top of the conference is there for the taking soon.

I don't see Greg Gard keeping Wisconsin at the same level Bo Ryan did. As much as I couldn't stand the guy Bo Ryan was probably one of the best coaches in basketball at getting every ounce of talent out of his team. I don't remember them ever having highly rated recruiting classes (if they did I just don't remember) and yet Bo had them playing at the top of the B1G.

Next year I think Iowa will be in the thick of things, they've proved to me that they can play without Jok and win even when he isn't effective. The experience these freshman have gotten will payoff big time next year.

Matta and OSU had been a major force for a decade, and appear to be trending down as well. Hear that Matta's health is becoming an issue.

Iowa will be near the top for a long time, now that Fran has players to run his system...and with more talent coming in.

Some top PGs will be taking a look as well.

This is good...
