Change the floor

The Parquet has been there for a while .. like back in the '80s. A friend of mine commented to me that the only floor that should be Parquet is Boston Garden. I didn't agree with him as I like it.

Pretty sure the 1988-89 season was the first year of the parquet. I remember it pretty distinctly because it was BJ, Roy, and Ed Horton's final year, and they redid the court that year.

Plus I remember the 1987 Iowa/Indiana game on YouTube and there was no parquet that year. So definitely late 80's. Speaking of which, they had the big Herky on at mid-court that year.. I wouldn't mind that look again.

Haha I'm aware that the parquet has been there for a while. Actually, I always asked my dad about the parquet floor and the way he described it: they redid the floor at a time when the celtics and the boston garden were the pinnacle of basketball. So 'mimicking' them and putting in a parquet floor was somewhat influenced by the celtics. In a sort of Iowa-steelers jersey kind of way.

I like the checkered floor though because it's unique. And about the silhouette, actually a few teams have it now: texas, i think Ohio St, Indiana and probably more. I think Iowa has a great state shape though and it would work

Hmmm .. I wasn't aware of the Parquet connection, but given the Stealers, it makes sense. As for the silhouette, yes, OSU does have it on their floor.

No, our floor looks awesome right now besides the mediacom logo. Change that for a CHA logo.

Look, they aren't taking off the Mediacom Court sticker.

I wouldn't make big changes to the court, change the font along the end lines and call it good.

I like the naming idea but why do we need a painted court? Get a nice classic hard wood court with a nice tigerhawk logo in the center and call it good.
