That would be the consensus among a lot of different people's speculation.
I did hear that among some that Beth has reached out to is a person who is outside of college basketball right now. That would indicate a person who was a college basketball coach at one time and is possible an former NBA coach or someone whom people know is going to be let go very soon from the NBA. One person whom comes to my mind is from the state of Iowa. If he is NICKed up and about to lose his job he may want to move on from the NBA and NURSE his wounds and come back home.

This would be a home run, but I doubt Beth can afford him unless he wants out of the rat race and somewhere he can park his boat for more than a few years.
McCollum seems like the logical choice.

Chad says he expects it to be finalized with McCollum today. We shall see.

Cannot imagine that Chad would put himself out there without the proper sourcing. This is exciting news. One of the hottest up and coming coaches available, and we got him. Of course, I remember saying that about Alford 20 years ago.

She has been in contact with Brad Stevens; not to offer him a job but to get his input. Perhaps that is the reaching out you heard about.
Word on the wire is that she contacted Brad Stevens - not to offer him a job but to get input from a knowledgeable friend. The one name that he reportedly provided was that of Ronald Nored, who was interviewed by Beth and would’ve been a great outside-the-box choice.

and Lickliter was coach of the year or something like that. At least Mc Collum has had success at more than one place. Hope he can get some guys to stay home.

Well, the guy just put together a 30-win season with a bunch of kids who were almost all D2 the year before. He clearly knows how to develop underrecruited players and coach the hell out of them during games.

Ben would likely bring most of his Drake roster with him so we wouldn't have to worry about those leaving via the portal as much.
Would we like their PG leading us next year?
Isn't one of the portal rules that if a kid enters the portal, he can go back to the school he's leaving but the school doesn't have to take him back?

I was wondering the same thing, if BMC was coaching. I also turned that around and wondered how Fran and his roster would've done if it played Drake's schedule. Not a rip on Fran and his roster, just thinking about a comparison of the two.
I think if Freeman stayed healthy they would have rolled through Drake's schedule, gaining more and more confidence along the way.
