CFN Bowl Projections

Once more, Bucky getting props over Iowa. Who exactly did they beat last year and who is going to replace their only pass rusher?

I'm wondering the same thing. Ohio State getting picked to win the conference is understandable - they are Ohio State and they're going to get picked most years based on name alone.

But Wisconsin finishing second behind them? Not buying it. They have Ohio State at home and then come to Kinnick in back-to-back weeks, and they'll be lucky to win either of those games, especially with Scott Tolzein running the offense.

Last time Wisconsin had all this hype they blew it all down their leg. I dont think they will deal well with the pressure and hype this year and will have 3-4 loses. We will see how it plays out but I dont think Bielema will be able to take the heat up there in Madison.......

I'm sure Whiskey is talking about how overrated the Hawks are on their board. Talk to me in October.

They beat Iowa...just sayin

We have to beat them before you can deal talk like that imo.

He was talking about Wisconsin i think

Complaining about preseason bowl projections is ridiculous. I wish some Iowa fans would take the chip off their shoulder during the offseason

But bus, I like how it looks on my shoulder! Even cooler than a parrot!

I've been trying to not get too worked up about rankings. It's nice to see us in the top 5, slightly disappointed when we aren't even in the top 10. Being 20 years old, I don't completely detach myself from that. But I've been working on that recently. As long as the team plays with a chip on their shoulder no matter where they're ranked, I think we can agree that we'll all be happy next January.

Oops thought he was talking OSU, yeah Wisconsin sucks.

They have Wisc @ 11-1. CFN must figure they will win @ Iowa, since I don't think they have OSU losing a game, given they have 'em in the NC game.

And I don't see Wisconsin beating us at Kinnick. If the game were in Camp Randall again, then I wouldn't be surprised. But not here.

I wonder why they think Wisconsin will be able to do anything against our defense this year when we completely dominated them last year in Madison. I'm convinced our offense will be significantly better this year, so that game is probably going to be a really ugly blowout.

As we all know, OSU nearly lost at home against us with our backup freshman quarterback making his first start ever. With the game being played in Kinnick and with Stanzi throwing TD passes all over the place to McNutt and DJK, I don't see how they think Ohio State stands a chance against us either.

All that matters is wins during the season. The rest will take care of itself. Preseason polls and predictions (especially those made in May) are worthless. Its much better to be in the top 5 come January instead of May :)

We will be ranked in the top 15 most likely and thats fine by me

NO, rivals has spoken- they're right on every time they write an article... everyone set fire to everything and panic about our BCS chances now that rivals has come out with the preseason bowl pick'em.

For real though, I'm curious- would Iowa be disappointed with a Capital One Bowl? Would the season be a disappointment with expectations being what they are?

Because Vandenberg actually probably played better than Stanzi could have. Yes, Stanzi could have gotten the W in the 4th. IF he had inherited Vandy's start. With the turnover bug being Rick's problem last year, we probably aren't in position for his magic to make a difference in Columbus. Vandenberg gave us the best chance to win that one. I do think Rick will improve, but last year, a couple picks (and a pick 6 especially) would have buried us against that OSU defense and the Vest's ultra-conservative offensive gameplan.

Jesus, that's an interesting statement! The way last year was, if the OSU game was at Kinnick we probably lose by 21 plus. But then again, who the hell knows. Anything can happen any given Saturday in College Football.
